I have it on Steam and it REQUIRES me to log in to EGS.
Crossplay was always available in RL.
I'm not really an EGS hater, but I don't want my Steam account linked to any other services/sites.

i didnt pick it up before because i had a toaster pc. Then by the time i got a good quality pc i got interested in other games.

Crossplay has nothing to do with this. You must log in to EGS to play the game at all, even if it's the Steam version.
