He is destroying the cycle, all those different Arisens that meet their end in Bitterblack Isle will never leave and finish their quest to slay their dragons.
The cycle isn't something you can physically destroy, so in theory by trapping all Arisens in the Isle, he wins.

Some of my easiest wins against him. Just climb his face, stack up some bonus physical damage through items, and pummel his healthbar to death. He will get stunlocked, unable to do anything.

Whenever I play warrior, all through the pre-dragon part of the game, I'm cloning Liquid Vims at the scrivener. Their sole purpose is for me to not get bullshitted out of the game when Daimon 2.0 does his rift explosion.
There is a critical point where your hilt bashes just stunlock him from full HP, but you sure as shit do not start out at it.
