Nah it will do okay by the genre standards. It'll be GBVS2 playable online edition. Likely with similarly awful patches but in much quicker succession as they patch out any non-approved fun tech.

What the fan boys who go all crazy about RIOT WILL TAKE OVER THIS GENRE AND FORCE YOU OUT is that there is just a limit to the reach a genre has. Some you can push a bit more as the boundaries of what the genre can be are pretty wide. But you can't really push a fighter to be that much more appealing, if good online, money and brand recognition was enough then MK11 should a million active players instead of thousands

Both Valorant and Legends of Runeterra we objectively brainlet oversimplified games. Because Riot wanted to get their greedy hands into every genre instead of focusing on one genre and making it one of the best in that genre. The fighting game is oversimplified trash too.

i dont even think itll do that. people bought granblue because its arksys, DBFZ did well because its dragonball and it filled the marvel void when MVCI had its lackluster reveal. the riot fighting game looks like sf5 which (apparently) is decent now and made by riot, who has 0 fighting game experience

for it to to well itll have to play REALLY well and even that might not be enough
