how big is the standard ssd that comes with the system?
Just wait till other manufactures jump in. I personally don't trust Seagate.
>proprietary slot
The Series S comes with 500GB and the Series X comes with 1TB
that's how consoles work. the box is cheap, the accessories and subscriptions are expensive.
not that expensive isnt it Nvme 4.0?
next gen games will be 200gb a pop and will get even more bloated later on they know what they're doing
>made by microshit
yep, thats never going below 200
>Give 'em the games (games pass), sell 'em the memory needed for said games
essentially, yes but the average faggot doesnt know that.
It's expensive for a drive that only does 2.5GB/s read/write
it isn't required for use. if you pay for it, that's on you.
>Defend this
atleast there is an option, instead of only having like 800gb
Now the Bethesda deal makes sense.
Todd's just going to jack up those ssd's with his bloated games.
>seagate
Why not use a USB SSD?
>Seagate
yeah no
Honestly, the connection is not fast enough.
>Consumer grade spinning disks inside enterprise grade environments.
Grow a brain.
seagate has a contract to be the only supplier desu
It's not my fault you're a poor nigger snoy, Enjoy 825gb and an even more expensive ssd option.
>consumer stuff fails from the company with the worst track record of reliability
Why not just let people plug an external disk on a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 port? There are M.2 NVME adapters so you can take advantage of the entire ~2.5GB/s bandwidth from USB 3.2 Gen 2x2.
Get a job. That’s pocket change
>seagate
>219.99 plus tip
Xchud in suicidal watch
Watch as 98% of the drives die within a year.
It’s a terabyte of storage that’s optimized for proprietary hardware to run like it’s not extended storage but native onboard storage including native transfer speeds.
Tell me why that kind of price tag ISN’T justified, you massive tool
Nigga must think that it's the same of going to amazon and buying a 2T HDD.
How much is it for a regular SSD with the same performance + size?
What's the problem? It's a fucking 1TB SSD. That's how much this shit costs.
>prohibitively expensive
>made by fucking seagate - known for making the least reliable storage drives
Fuck that shit
its 10$ less than the equivalent PC component.
You don't need it. Use a regular old HD, store your backlog on there, and transfer the games to the internal SSD when you need it.
>Samsung drives
ok but why
I'm genuinely confused. Does this mean I need the external storage thing for certain features? Is the built in memory not enough?
That’s basically the same price of an equivalent ssd.
>can't compare to other Seagate shit
>can't compare to Samsung shit
Find something for this price with this speed then, user. Prove everyone wrong.
Literally do a Google search and you will see SSD go for as little as half the cost of this Xbox memory card
I'm switching from PC to Console this gen because I don't want to pay to upgrade my PC. What has me amused is how people actually want to already buy this expansions lot. The console itself comes with 1TB. That's as much as my PC has currently and I have no issues with it. Do console gamers never uninstall old games they don't play anymore? Is this an American issue because of third world speeds + data caps? I just don't get how 1TB isn't enough for people.
>OS takes some space
>CoD is 210GB
>FIFA is at least 50GB
>AssCreed is at least 50GB
>Fucking Fortnite is at least 40GB
lol that's pretty much the whole drive filled right there
No, it's just if you want to install and have more than, I dunno, 12, 15 games on your SeX at the same time, then you'll need to buy more space with this shit.
It's retarded because there will not be a noticeable difference between this and a regular sata SSD which would have cost half the price, or better yet include 2TB for the same price. This exists just so they can charge more, when anything would have already been way better than the HDDs console plebs are used to
I'm not poor.
This. All those shill threads they have been making.
>The absolute state!!
Not at PCIe 4.0 speeds.
microsoft cock riding xbots defended paid online they'll have -no- problem defending this cancer
I would agree with you but they went with the NVMe 4.0 x2 spec. So, it's closer to below. If the above drive was NVMe 4.0 x4, then you'd be right.
Isnt is that expensive because its the first ever removable ssd akin to a USB of its time?
you have 1tb internal for X and 500 for S, you can't play next gen games from external storage but you can transfer them to it.
god, why there are so many categories of SSD, weren't HDD just categorized by 2.5"/3.5" and their RPM ?
who thought this shitshow was acceptable for SSDs
It's expensive because it's PCIe4 speeds and a custom slot design. Retards on here will compare it to PCIe3 M.2 drives and wonder why the price difference.
