>Since the April debut of Xbox Game Pass for console an PC in Japan, Spencer said there have been "more players on Xbox devices, games, and services than at any time in our history in the market."
>Over the summer, Spencer said monthly active users for Xbox Live grew 82% year-over-year.
>"In Japan, out of everyone who played an indie game on Game Pass, it was the first time playing an indie game on Xbox for 90% of them," Spencer said.
I want to hear more about Korea. They're the better Japan anyway.
Anthony Sullivan
Interesting. Will this motivate devs like Atlus, Gust, or Vanillaware to go multiplat?
Evan Hernandez
Pretty meaningless considering how small their marketshare has been in east asia. Xcloud could become pretty big though, mobile games and handhelds are really big in Japan but there's little overlap between xbox and the switch's catalog.
Joshua Rodriguez
>They're the better Japan anyway. >Americanised society running on a turbo-mode capitalism with no values, shrinking traditions and with a fascination for European culture but without the substance.
That's because it was originally more expensive than everywhere else. They changed it to be about $284.
Camden Green
they dropped it before the show to price match the switch. it wasn't some sudden thing. more like a quick shot at nintendo.
Luis Clark
>implying this matters that one headline will be repeated over and over again on Zig Forums for the next 7-8 years
Henry Parker
They could at least go for the otaku market like they did with the 360, especially now that Sony isn't a Japanese company anymore.
Aiden Allen
I love Korea but they are FUCKED culturally. I dunno if it was just the sudden transaction between being a glorified japanese colony, to having half your state becoming Burgerland or what.
Chase Hill
This fucking pathetic corporate spin.
It's like watching Nintendo during the GameCube days.
Aaron Diaz
Nippon Ichi already left playstation and more will follow.
Nathaniel Johnson
All you have to do is look at the current state of the US to know the answer to that.
Michael Wright
congrats to Xbox for selling thier entire 1000 units dedicated for Japanese gamers.
Ayden Anderson
Supposedly Sony’s policies affect all regions, so I wonder why Disgaea 6 will only be on PS4 in Japan?
Daniel Phillips
>Japan is Xbox's fastest growing market
yeah even phil said it in the TGS stream, apparently nips love xCloud because they can play shit on their phones and over there internet is SO fucking good they can even stream RE7 and PSO2 to the switch with zero lag (talking about tokyo region of course, not bumfuck outta nowhere)
Christopher Carter
even the deranged, radioactive atomic bomb Hiroshimaed isolated gook island monkeys are having enough of the pozzed AIDS dreck and censorship Commiefornia $ony has been shitting out in the past 7 years.
Camden Rivera
>$284 that's really inviting
Caleb Turner
Disgaea 6 being on PS4 in Japan tells a different story. It's going to be interesting to see what their next game's status is going to be.
Dylan Watson
i wonder if Koreans even know what a Xbox is
Kayden Kelly
Korea is for contrarian weebs.
Xavier Brooks
at least koreans are not fat
Owen Cooper
>xbox users went from 100 > 182 in japan lol. I'm glad they're trying though
Jace Flores
it will take a team of scientists to decode this message but we can do it
Cameron Miller
>Disgaea 6 being on PS4 in Japan tells a different story
yeah it's called pity, because japan doesn't give a single fuck about playstation, it's all nintendo land
Jose Nguyen
They sold all 2 of them?!?
Christian Watson
America experiment to artificially create an economical miracle like in Japan (from third-worlders into perfect wageslaves and plastic dolls) + immense butthurt after getting btfo by every country in history, especially Japan + live in fear of being nuked by best Korea = complete madhouse
Jaxson Rogers
anyone got that pic when Xbone One launched it was outsold by the fucking Wii in Japan
Isaiah King
Holy shit, sounds ultra based
Anthony Gutierrez
weird times if new xbox has a stronger presence in japan than sony does
