nah. Y0 is in my top 5 favorite games, I couldn't even finish Kiwami. If you want the Yakuza 1 story play the original. Haven't played 2 though so I can't comment on that

I played 0 a year ago and I'm currently halfway through Kiwami. This thread makes it sound worse than it is. It's fine.
Coming off 0 it just feels like I'm playing some pretty good 0 DLC or something.
I mean they definitely cheaped out on it compared to 0, but I guess they did that to make 0 better, which is fine overall.

Bosses are nearly 3 levels of blocking, it's aggravating as fuck. I'm cool with them countering moves and blocking spam, but they don't interact with the 0 styles at all. Rush is awesome fun in 0's boss fights and a pain in Kiwami's.

Well paced and funny dogshit story + awesome substories > Horribly paced dogshit story with meh substories.
The substories and pacing are 4's greatest strengths. Also the underground actually felt good to explore and made going around Kamurocho more fun. Fuck the rooftops though, holy SHIT.

Almost every substory is accessible in chapter 6, so just do that and bumrush the second half with an inventory full of Staminan Royales. The boss fights are annoying as fuck from this point on and the game spins its wheels hard. You're gonna want to get to Premium Adventure ASAP.
