What the fuck do I do about this feeling? Please fucking help me for the love of god I just want to play video games but I keep returning to the exact same rotation of multiplayer games day in day out all the while wishing I was playing one of the trillion other games I have at my disposal. What do I do. How do you guys have fun and force yourself to play good games?
What the fuck do I do about this feeling...
Stop buying trash. Only buy stuff you actually really want to play and disregard the price of the game entirely. Better to pay $60 for something you like than $2 for something you don’t, or even something you don’t even end up playing.
Okay, but like. How do I play the games I currently have?
what online games are you playing instead? sounds more like you're addicted to the skinnerbox / progression in whatever that is
If you're a cute girl with nothing to wear then wear nothing at all.
If you're a gamer boy with nothing to play then play nothing at all.
Personally I have the opposite problem with too many games. By the time I'm finishing ghost of tsushima there's no more threads, now that I'm finishing No Straight Roads there's no more threads and I imagine once I get through Black Souls discussion will die down for that too.
Quitting PC gaming solved this problem for me, went back to console gaming and always want to game
Do what I did.
>Go through all your games and put them into a few categories. Favorites, Backlog, Not interested in playing, etc.
>Play whatever you want. If you can't choose one, just go in alphabetical order.
>sounds more like you're addicted to the skinnerbox / progression in whatever that is
This is me. Any games you recommend?
Take a break for a few weeks or so
Uninstall everything, install game #1, play game #1 to completion, uninstall game #1, install game #2, play game #2, repeat until complete. By having only 1 game installed at a time, you're forcing yourself to appreciate that game. It's a lot less distracting if you get sligtly bored of that 1 game to then quit and start another game.
First you got to have confidence and quit being a beta onions boy. Delete every game in your library installed and then pick one single player game and one online/co-op game to play with people.
Don't switch to new games til you finish completing single player or you got enough online and then delete them.
>have games on wishlist
>want to play them all
>buy game from wishlist
>I now have no desire to play it anymore
I dunno, I'm a real game hoarder, I'm satisfied by knowing I "could" play it if I wanted, simply never do it.
>feels like I'm wearing nothing at all
>nothing at all
>nothing at all
Maybe I am a basedboy because I don't really want to uninstall everything. It sounds like a logical option but also sounds kind of unfun to actually go about and do. I would also have to pick what the one or two games to actually have are as well, which is kind of part of the problem.
Use a roulette type wheel app that will pick a game for you
Does anyone ever get anxious when playing or trying new games? Because I fucking do and it kills me. I hate OCD.
The fuck? Consider the rope retard.
daily reminder that if you don't lose track of the time you're not really enjoying a videogame.
Just keep searching
You are addicted to the excessive dopamine these multiplayer games give you. Cut them out cold turkey and in a week you wont struggle to play single player games at all.
You've trained your brain to fluke at the slightest discomfort. You'll have to train your commitment and there's no magic cure for that. Pick a game and finish it, then do it again and again. You'll have to kick the hype train riding, fear of missing outing, sale buying, backlog having consoomer out of you.
Yeah. Honestly a big part of enjoying a game is discussing it on Zig Forums(nel).
I get anxious before playing them and especially before beating them but once I get in I can't stop playing and usually get super fucking hyped the moment I can move my guy around.
I kind of have this, I want to have the perfect conditions when I play a new game that I think I'm going to like - I can't just play Bloodborne for the first time when I'm kind of tired or I have a headache, I have to wait until I'm in the perfect mood and have nothing distracting me
>50 games
>95% total playtime on one game
literally me it hurts bors
make a backlog in order of games you really want to play and just delete the games you aren't immediately playing, that way when you start up steam the singleplayer game you want to play is front and center, and just sit down and fucking play it and beat it. at least that's the extreme i went to to finally start putting a dent in my backlog
Poast backlog
You don't think I have? But what's the point of doing that? It's only going to ensure that I will never play any more video games ever again, and why the fuck would I want that?
Buy a switch and play Nintendo games unironically
Also stop spending so much free time doing nothing essentially, learn something you love
>It's only going to ensure that I will never play any more video games ever again, and why the fuck would I want that?
You dont get anxious anymore?
Also as a bonus one mentally ill faggot less on Zig Forums, it helps everyone really.
Please kys.
I play them
It would help more if edgy teens left the website
For the record, if you ever find yourself unable to start doing something or commit to things it's because you have an unhealthy addiction to dopamine. A single player game like Mario 64 for example will not constantly flood your brain with dopamine. You will get that rush of dopamine each time you get a star, which could take anywhere from 5-10 minutes. Meanwhile a multiplayer online game will flood your brain with dopamine CONSTANTLY. You will constantly be hit with dopamine each time you kill someone or each time you open a lootbox or complete an ingame challenge or whatever. This could happen as often as every 10 seconds, which is not healthy. Doing this enough causes your brain to become unsatisfied if it is not constantly receiving dopamine hits.
It's not good to live like this. Nothing can match the online game and as a result everything else becomes boring by comparison and you are constantly hit by the urge to go back to the game.
This extends even beyond games. Unhealthy sugary food or drinks can have a similar affect. Social media, yes including Zig Forums, can have a similar effect. Masturbation/pornography can absolutely have a similar effect. Try to cut down on addictive activities like these and you will find yourself enjoying everything more.
I fell into the trap of buying bundles and discounted games because they were good deals. Then you have hundreds of games cluttering up your library that you don’t particularly want to play but it’s in your backlog. It’s better to just find one or two games that you really want to play right now and buy those and don’t buy again until you’re done with them.
