How important is the naming for a console?
How important is the naming for a console?
Less important than launch titles and price
It's literally the reason why nobody ever bought the Wii U, so pretty damn important. Microsoft is shitting the bed with their retarded naming conventions. People buying Ones by mistake are all customers they will never get back.
A real seller will try to sell the more expensive one
is this the sony thread
>"the newest one"
BOOM
problem solved
retard fucking boomers
>...what are the differences?
>*explains differences*
>"uhhhh, hold on just a minute"
>*calls son/husband/brother/whomever*
>"which one did you want? ah okay, thanks"
>"Xbox Series X, please"
The "hurr durr confusing names boomer don't understand" thought process doesn't really hold up when smartphones exist.
>uhhhhhhhh you shouldn't have to look it up or ask about it in the first place
A major purchase like a new console involves research. Why would doing either be a problem?
>"okay, so the series s or the series x then?"
>"the better one"
oh and also you are fucking fired for being such a shit salesman
It's amazing that nobody in a multi-billion dollar company realized how fucking retarded this is.
Even worse, it was a western company, which usually go for brainlet level namings, just look at how they name movies and games, one single fucking word, and Japan is the one that likes to give fucking long names to their animes and movies while they keep company and console names simple enough, odd.
Retail employees dont care about being good salesmen especially when there are no incentives like commission/bonuses. Their only quota are most likely credit card applications, and surveys or some other shit
there is an incentive when they want to fucking pay rent and keep their job
amazon luna thread
Wagedoom mentality
Sad!
>Do you want the current or older version?
Current
>There's the XBox Series X which is the main version, but there's a cheaper equivalent called the XBox Series S that has no ability to play disks and requires all games to be purchased online.
It's not that hard.
Tell that to the Wii U
Game store employees don't get paid commission
All they care about is moving inventory and getting you to buy used instead of new
>console
>major purchase
Maybe if you’re a high school kid saving up your money mowing lawns
t. has no idea how retail works
If it's present for someone, it's a major purchase.
yes, because i am not a fucking retail wagie
>"the better one"
So a PS5.
Wii U launch titles and early third party support sucked
Zig Forums is dumb enough to think the average console shopper does their research
You gotta take into account retard wasp moms buying their kids an xbox for christmas. They're going to buy the first thing that says xbox and not give it a second thought, and won't ask anyone since its a 'surprise'.
Why would gamestop even stock the Series S?
And yet you act like you're an expert on the subject
I don't know but clearly Amazon Luna was not the optimal choice here.
And so does the Series X|S
>b-but Gamepass!
does not require a next gen console. Also the Wii U was less expensive.
a monkey could be
I guess whoever they're getting it for will bitch at her for getting the wrong one and they can return it.
MS were very big on not wanting the xbox to have the lower number. It'd be kinda weird to have PS3 compete with Xbox 2. Instantly tints perceptions.
Third party support is a lot better than wii u though
They barely are. Every store got nearly 3x as many Series X consoles than Series S.
Thanks for admitting you're dumber than an ape.
Correct. A monkey could be, and somehow you're not.
What does this say about you?
Same could be said of the Wii, which outsold every Xbox console ever made.
Not quite the same. People thought the Wii U was a tablet addon for the Wii. In this case people are aware there's a new Xbox console, just the naming might cause them to purchase the wrong one.
Product name is part of the branding and branding is extremely important. Anyone saying otherwise doesn’t understand how the world works. For the record Pepsi paid one million dollars for their logo design. That’s how important branding is.
You vastly overestimate the IQ of the average customer.
People who bought the all digital Xbone didn't even understand it was digital only
The Wii had good launch titles, a catchy name, and a lower price
Didn't Pepsi 'leak' a document with mock details about their new logo?
Xbox Series X is launching with zero exclusives, Halo Infinite got delayed remember
The naming might cause them to purchase the wrong one, including the one from last gen, which is literally called "Xbox One".
Cumsole hahahahahajehrhaha
The only good launch title on the Wii was a port of a Gamecube game. The Wii U also had a lower price vs its competitors and a "catchy name".
I thought the Wii U was an add-on for the Wii, I only just now learned it was its own console through browsing this thread.
I feel retarded.
nobody said anything about exclusives except you
