She causes most of the monsters to attack you during the cutscenes, has a grating voice, is ugly and useless in the field, and is a poor handler to have compared to the one MH4U. She also looks ugly in the MH4U outfit, nothing can save her.

She never goes away. Handler talks to you in every story quest as if it adds to the hunt and overall mood. Then Capcom decided to double down on her and she became one of the more important characters in Iceborne so now she's even MORE in your face for a character that contributes fuck all. Even the caravan leader in 4 had a macguffin scale, but he wasn't tethered to you at all times nor did he feel the need to voice his opinion while you were out on an important hunt (or maybe he did and I forgot because it's been five years).

the problem wasn't her ugly mug as much as it was the fucking NONSTOP cutscenes which happened to predominantly feature her as the main character of the game sitting there as every NPC feeds her lore and happily puts up with her endless bullshit, going as far as to make your palico constantly cling to her instead of you in every cutscene.

I don’t get her role at all. We’ve had guildies in the past yes, but none of them ever were as hands on as she’s “supposed” to be. It doesn’t make sense to take retards like her out into the world outside of giving us a reason to hunt something (which has never been a problem in the past). If they really needed a stand-in for the hunter’s voice, they should have just used the cat. At least that would have made sense lore-wise due to hunters always being out and about with a cat. It’s infuriating to have a character seem so useless and then have them say, “wow, WE did it! WE are the best!”
Couple that with being relatively butter-face and now you have a character that is frustratingly bad.
