As a pc fat which nextgen controller should I get?

Xbox will probably feel a little closer to home for you since you main PC
PS5 will have a decent selection and perform well enough
I'm gonna wait for the first month jitters to die down though
Do you not already have a controller?
I have a dualshock 4 and it works fine, I don't think support is really an issue.
I prefer the xbox layout but I do want to try out that dualsense. It just looks neat
>but xbox has better pc support
There'll be a DS4windows equivalent for the new controller withing a couple weeks of its release.
The Xbone controller was complete trash, the DS4 was better in every way. That new Xbox controller looks like exactly the same cheap garbage as the Xbone one. I'd go with the PS5 controller personally, looks a lot better. But take into account that it probably won't have solid PC drivers for a while if the DS4 was anything to go by.
If you don't need analog triggers, the switch pro controller is great.
Also has gyro, which is nice.
If you aren't sure, I'd wait until you can test them in a store or something tho.
Xbox dpad is atrocious. I regularly fucked up special moves on Tony Hawk remake due to how shitty they are. Was pleasantly surprised when I plugged my DS4 to my PC and the game supported it.

Whatever you're used to or most comfortable with.
I've been using DS4 for the last 7 years and no complaints.
If you've not used either before, flip a coin.
>buh buh they spent a bajiliion million dollars on r&d for the xbone controller
get fucked
The sticks placement alone deters me from any dualshock but the d-pad does look like the Vita's which was pretty nice.
lmao, cope. The Xbone controller is cheaply made junk. Extremely low quality and prone to breaking easily.
Just get a dualshock 4. You're on PC, you're not constrained by gens.
Xbox, it's a no brainer
>more ergonomic design
>better build quality
>no hoops to go through for windows support
>many times greater battery life
>and no stupid gimmicks that literally no game uses
Honestly besides usb c there doesn't seem to be much reason to get a ds5 over 4 right now. I'm interested to see how the dpad feels but that's it.
xbox one
it already has haptic feedback since last gen, and it has amazing support on pretty much everything, meanwhile with a dualshock controller old games dont support it, some new ones do, and if you use a program to make it work as an xbox controller so you can play most games you get some games that support it and it gets really fucky
>Xbox controllers
Heavens no.
it's not even dualshock anymore, it's "dualsense" now which literally sounds like a sex toy
anyway, ds4 is better simply because you have access to the internal battery
lotta snoy cope and seethe in here
Neither, both are garbage.
what features does the ps5 have beside looking like shit?
Xbox because symmetrical sticks are worse.
This. I have to buy a replacement for my xbone controller every year or two. Meanwhile, my DS4 still works just fine after 6 years.
No gyro.
I never hear any explanation for why this is the case
>and no stupid gimmicks that literally no game uses
Imagine being enough of a cuck to have yourself be limited by the controls the developers implement.
Compared to what, DS4?
All DS4 features
Better battery life
Built in mic
Upgraded rumble
Supposedly more comfortable
kek
>The Xbone controller was complete trash, the DS4 was better in every way.
What a fucking joke, dumb snoy tranny.
Why do you lie?
The DS4 dpad is absolute dogshit compared to the Xbone S one, unless you mean the original pad
>Better battery life
Thats not hard
>Mic
Useless
>Upgraded rumble
Useless
>Comfortable
Might be or not.
Places your hands in a more neutral position. My hands cramp after using Dualshock controllers for too long, has never happened to me with an Xbox controller. Dualshock is better for fighting games for the same reason (aside from the D-Pad just being flat out better)
Because relaxed fingers are around left stick and buttons on xbox, unless you have tiny petite girl hands.
never understood that.
Neither.
Basically Sony fanboys inadvertently shitting on themselves
no I meant I don't understand how people say dualshock layout is superior when anyone with common sense would conclude that the xbox layout is more ergonomic for the vast majority of games
If the xbox one s controller is anything to go off, the new xbox controller will be based as fuck and built to last. I've had mine for 4 years, and use it every day, yet it still works perfectly. It's the only controller I've ever had that didn't deteriorate after 6 months, theres no thumbstick drift, sticky buttons or fucked up bumpers. To quote todd, it just works.
The new Xbox D-Pad is pretty clicky, i like it.
if you have an xbox one controller why bother upgrading? I would still use my wired 360 controller if I still had it
>dpad flat out better
I never understood this meme
The diags don’t register all the time and the recessed buttons make it feel like crap
The only reason I could think it’s better is it stops retards from pressing the buttons in so hard that they break it
Xbone controller is nice and I like the new dpad for the sex controller. What I like about the xbox controller is that you can take the batteries out of it completely and plug in a cable to it so that it acts as a wired controller so you can save AA batteries or the charge time on a battery pack when you're not playing on consoles.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Sony bronies live in bizarro world.
The new Xbox controller dpad looks pretty tactile and high quality.
it's from the stupid elite controller or whatever and pretty sure the d-pad was the only good thing that came from that disaster
>Xbox controller works on 100% of games
>PS5 controller works on 100% of games
>"better PC support"
?????????????????
Being a superior PC player surely you know how to download a single program to make DS5 emulate the Xbone controller when it's needed, right? It's the easiest shit in the world.
Cargocult
Ok, but it's in the wrong place for a dpad. If I'm playing a game intended for dpads, I want the snoy layout. Xbox dpad should just stick to selecting inventory or whatever.
>subjective
>incorrect
>hyperbole
>stop playing on battery you fucking retard, cable that shit
>what is the xbox, sorry "home" button?
not him but yea I think so too. I have both and prefer DS4. Especially for shoulder button heavy games like Sekiro.
>as a pc fat which nextgen controller should I get?
This one of course.
DualShock 5 all the way. The touchpad seems like a meme until you use programs like DS4Windows which let's you bind multiple macros to it. I have my DS4 setup for shit like click right side = volume up, left side volume down. Click top toggles Rivatuner OSD, two fingers click = Alt + Enter. Then you can still apply swipe gestures for swipe up, down, left and right if you still want more macros.
On top of that there's the fact that since the original Xbox release, Microsoft have yet to put out a controller with joysticks that have as tight and perfect a deadzone as ANY DualShock controller. Every single Xbox controller from the Duke to the latest One X I've ever used has required at minimum 10% deadzone correction to avoid characters auto walking in games. Meanwhile and DualShock I've ever used on my PC (a LOT of DS3 and 4) all have such tight sticks that I can effectively get away with using 0% deadzone correction and still not experience any phantom input from the sticks. It's night and day quality difference.
Not everything is perfect in DualShock land though. The battery life on the DS4 is absolute dogshit and I would much rather have AA batteries that can be hotswapped easily like Xbox controllers. You get yourself a 4 battery recharging pack of eneloops which will last 40 fucking hours, and just swap between the 2 pairs of batteries when one pair gets low. Voila not only do you now have over 5x the battery life of a DS4 from a single charge, but you will never have any downtime AND the batteries will probably outlast the controller with charge cycle counts unlike the DS4 which has been recharged so many times that the battery is probably heavily degraded by now and needs replacing. Thankfully the DualShock 5 is using a much larger battery so it'll last probably around 15 hours and it has USB-C this time instead of shitty fucking microUSB but it is still a downside to these controllers that I wish we could do something about.
