On a scale of 1 to 343, how much had The Coalition ruined Gears?

This game pretty much goes on both sides, COG are bureaucrat assholes who never cared about what Niles Samson was doing until the last minute which would cause E-Day years later. And then after the war they returned to being assholes and tried to annex every human settlement into it with Jinn.

But hate or love them, their soldiers are the last resort to the point of veterans and haters joining them for the sake of humanity.

nah, they are just lazy with story telling. I read the plot. I'm disappointed that story-driven games aren't a thing with xbox

Adding the choice was a mistake IMO. Now they'll have to adspt the story or pick Canon in 6. And the first option is alot of work and the latter one will disappoint some people.
But I gotta admit I didn't expect it and character reactions were pretty good

Genuinely surprised by how good this game is. I initially played through all the original games & Judgement as a nostalgia drive and decided fuck it see what GoW4 and 5 are like on the Gamepass, after finding GoW4 utter shit I wasn't expecting much for 5 but I'm still playing Horde & Escape today, it's fun as fuck. Probably helps that I only recently started playing since it was apparently an absolute trashfire at launch, seems like it's slowly getting better and better after they fired the old lead dev

Played the first 2 around this time last year and loved them but took me ages to get through 3 so because of that I went straight to 5 and skipped 4 because I wanted play it as soon as possible, and also because I heard 4 was kinda bad. Should I go back to it?

the campaign for 4 is atrocious, it took me a year to finish it. I would still do it, so you're not in the dark, or at least read some quick spoilers somewhere.

err wait, if you mean you've already played 5 campaign, then no I wouldn't bother playing 4s campaign.
