It's fun to fuck around in a big sandbox as as a DBZ character for a few hours but after that initial charm wears off your left with very shallow core gameplay riddled with way too many tacked on mechanics that don't add anything substantial to the game whatsoever
It would really benefit from a sequel where they trim the fat and refine some of the salvageable ideas but that's very unlikely to happen

I think the main thing the game is trying to achieve is its story lad, the combat is not so great, but Z's story is pretty good and if you have watched all of it back in time, it's nice to visit it all again.

Ok but I don't play video games for story and DBZ's story is still pretty fresh in my mind so what point is there in me playing this? Appealing only specifically to people who haven't consumed any Dragonball media in nearly 20 years isn't exactly a strong selling point.

DBZ game that fell for the open world meme and mmo tier sidequests. Combat is flashy but extremely simplistic with enemies having hp bloat and hyper armor. Cutscenes vary in quality with the well animated ones mostly appear in Saiyan and Namek saga while taking a nosedive onwards. Worth a buy at $30 if you like dragon ball.

The Faulconer soundtrack can be a lot of fun, but the problem was how it was used. It had terrible editing - way too loud, never any quiet moments, abrupt cuts, on and on. Listening to entire episodes of it gives you a fucking headache.

Never played it, but it looks like boring crap where every fight is the same routine of rushing in to get a few hits in on occasion, with the enemy having full time super armor.
