FF XVI confirmed to be M rated. This is the first mainline FF game to get a M rating. Do you think Square will target FF to adults for now on or is this an one time thing? Honestly FF 7 Remake should’ve got a M rating. It felt so safe and didn’t take risk and lost some of the edge the original had. Hopefully moving forward FF 7 Remake part 2 gets a M rating and FF in general focuses on adults instead of teenagers

Yes XVs gap closer is faster than XVI's gap closer.
The entire clip of this shot of the gap closer in XVI is 43 frames, so I used the same amount of frames in XV for one of its many gap closers to compare.
On frame 1 Shield has already initiated the gap closer as indicated by the glowy orange around him.
Thus I started Noct's gap closer on the same frame as indicated by glowy blue around him for a 1:1 comparison.
By frame 8 Noct has already made contact with the enemy.
On frame 8 Shield is still initiating the gap closer and is in the middle of movement.
By frame 29 Shield finally makes contact with the enemy.
Noct has already dealt a 2nd hit in that time as his gap closer has stinger properties and the enemy has already been "BREAK"d and given the player its drop.
So yes, XV is objectively faster and smoother than XVI, you can stop coping now.

I dont have a problem with FFVII remake part 2 going M (or part 1 if they release a director cut verison +18), but i wouldnt count on it too much since i bet they want FFXVI to go +18 while they aim FFVII remake project for teens.
It entirely depends on how XVI does i guess. I wish that FFXVI does well so Squeenix isnt afraid anymore to do M games.
