As a YWing veteran that flew in the assault on Kile II, I wouldn't go into battle with anything else.

For me its the Starhawk

nice ship but you won't be able to fly it in squadrons

I know it's fictional but this thing is just fanfiction tier. Where does the (presumably) enormous power plant go? How could the empire ever feasibly mass produce these? What was their tax policy?

Of course not. It's a capital ship.

However it IS the focus of the campaign, so that's good enough for me

Why does the interceptor always get compared to the a wing when it's got twice the firepower of an awing and a tie fighter?

>projectiles turn 30 degrees so they actually hit the Defender
lmfao, the rebels needed to break animation just to stun a single fighter. Incom/Koensayrfags on suicide watch.

Is there a nerd out there who can tell me what's so special about this thing? Looks like just another capital ship.

Defenders weren't mass produced, they were only used by interceptor pilots that managed to get through at least 20 combat engagements

Name one other decent disney-era design.
>inb4 it's just a gravestone ripoff
Okay but it still looks decent.

Get a load of this sienarscrub.

I kind of feel like money stops being an issue when you collect taxes from literally millions of worlds. The NR mass produced X-wings, X-wings are no slouches either.

ayyyyyyy lmao

Similar maneuverability and speed I'd imagine. it's weird, it was meant to outperform X-Wings, but bantha-brains assume Fast=A-wing equal. The name doesn't help too.

After Endor, the Rebellion wanted a big new ship to be a Star Destroyer-killer. They had a shitload of half-blown up star destroyers destroyed by Mon Cal cruisers lying around to salvage, so they took the parts from them and put them onto a space-frame that looks to be derived from the Nebulon-B frigate that's really popular in the Rebellion. It has a tractor beam superweapon that can tear apart ISDs and one starhawk destroyed a Super Star Destroyer with it, though it was also destroyed by the SSD in the process.

X-wing forever, sorry. Fell in love as a kid and now it can do no wrong.

>NNOOOOOOO!! THRAWN SAVE MEEEEEeee....

>Name one other decent disney-era design.
There's actually a lot of really good ship designs in nu-lore, I genuinely think most of the vehicle designs original to disney are better than a lot of the EU designs (excluding the EU designs Disney stole because they're so great). But vehicle designs aren't the reason people hate Disney for destroying Star Wars. Or at least, they shouldn't be.

It has easily the strongest tractor beam in sw history and it's development is what allowed the new republic to finally win the war on Jakku

The Disney designed A wing from last jedi looks better imo, even though we only saw it for a second.
So it's a space hulk? Eh, why don't they just use tractor beams to rip the heads off all the pilots of the starfighters?

its a good looking ship but I dont give a fuck about jakku, lemme just beat thrawn's katana fleet with it

The Disney A-wing from last jedi is just the Ralph McQuarrie A-wing with a notch in the front. The A-wing we got in ROTJ was actually Joe Johnston's design, not McQuarrie's.
>Eh, why don't they just use tractor beams to rip the heads off all the pilots of the starfighters?
Come to think of it I've never read anything about using tractor beams on living creatures in all of star wars
it might have happened but I don't remember it

>uh, boss? Is this really a good place to put the bridge? Seems kinda exposed stuck out on this little platform.

The Disney a-wing is actually nearly 1 to 1 reproductions of ralph mcquarrie concept art made for the OT. the new split wing design is also from OT concept art too.

The most unique and interesting ships from nu wars were the quad jumper (on screen for 2 seconds), the kanto bite ship they stole (we barely saw the exterior but look it up), and han solos dodge charger based landspeeder on correlia.

I can't forgive them for the shitty new x-wing

the bridge is up front, the tall tower is just an observation deck, remember when Anakin and Obi-wan were piloting half of it? it wasnt the back half

>call nu-wars shit that steals from the eu
>retard calls me a disney-loving soijak
wow you sure got me

>the shitty new x-wing
the color inverted tie fighter the ISIS-troopers have is far worse
also there's this fat x-wing from the shitty resistance cartoon

I just can't stand the tiny wings. They look so flimsy and cheap.

they're actually bigger than the t65, but the entire ship is like 1.5x as big as the t65 so proportionally they wind up looking small

How do you feel about the proto-X-wing user?
