Haven't seen any discussion about it here yet but I have a question as someone who only started with MHW.
Is being able to restock potions and whatnot at a camp mid-hunt as big of a deal as reddit is leading me to believe? Tons of people there are disappointed that that is returning for Rise.
I guess?
Because it makes it easier but I’ve never needed to so I don’t think it’s that big of a deal
Looks fun as fuck can't wait to dust off my switch.
>Stop shitposting for a second
I don't wanna
>being able to restock potions and whatnot at a camp mid-hunt
Then just don't go back to camp mid-hunt? If you're going back to the camp at all it means you carted which means you're a scrub and you need the help anyways, so I don't see the issue.
No. It's a stupid opinion, especially when they claim that you cannot just ignore it. Being able to restock allows players to play at your own pace, or pick up a few items you forgot like Traps in capture quests, or hot/cold pots. You can completely ignore the feature if you don't like it. Cart if you prefer. It's not like they reduced the number of items you can hold in your inventory.
With the way max potions work being able to have an infinite amount of them is absolutely fucking retarded. Monster Hunter was a war of attrition before world. You had to beat a monster before you ran out of supplies and you had to make use of every supply you had. In World nothing in a fight matters unless it can one shot you because you can just max potion yourself back to full health instantly and there's no reason to touch normal potions. That's why they had to start adding more shitty gimmicks. Supplies should be available for like the first 2 minutes of the hunt so you can get something if you forgot but then the room should be locked.
How likely is a PC port/ functionsl emulation? The MH community is largest on PC and there will be huge interest in playing this on that platform.
It's one of those thing that for the vast majority of players wasn't needed and will never even come up. But as someone who helped his 60 year old father learn how to play the game I appreciate that running out of potions doesn't mean he might as well just start the whole quest over again
Emulation is guaranteed to take off extremely fast. The Asians will be all over this from day 1. Yuzu already plays a ton of Switch games just fine.
You can carry 2 max potions and 1 ancient. 5 mega nutrients and 10 Mandragora. Quick bind combine them and you can easily carry 7 max potions. More if you craft mega nutrients. If you need more, then you need to get better.
>That's why they had to start adding more shitty gimmicks
Name one other than Alatreon.
Not op but Behemoth, Safi, Luna to some extent
>Love Monster Hunter and think this visually looks like a fucking MH game.
It may not look like World but I still like it.
>even more anime than World
lol
>If you're going back to the camp at all it means you carted
No? Monsters run away all the time unless you're some speed running nerd. You can go back to camp then catch up with them again, you dumb zoomer.
>Bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla
ENOUGH! Enter MERABOREASU!

I was under the impression that World toned down the whole anime from MHXX quite a lot.
On MHFU i have no idea what I was doing, but on MH3U and MH4U I took mats and books for 5 extra max and 10 extra ancient potions, while potting with f.aid and megas when able to leave the map for a bit. I think restocking pots is less efficient than that, so its not the issue.
I believe restocking ammo is what makes the whole thing an issue for me, for breaking the flow of hunts.
OH yeah and on MHGU you kinda have infinite pots with the provisions and alchemy (i played swag axe for a long time there) so no need to take all those mats.
As someone who only plays monster hunter as a single player experience it ruins half the challenge of a difficult hunt. When your dwindling resources no longer mean anything the tension is gone, playing well or poorly feel about the same.
Take a fireproof mantle and socked in some fire res and boom, Luna is easier than Teo. It's the first Elder that values counter-builds on World. Don't bring up Vaal, that shit is so easy you dont need Effluvial Res cept for the AT variant.

Dude it's Zig Forums, if you don't want shitposting to happen with Monster Hunter as the central topic you should've made your thread on another board. Only people still talking about the series here are consolewar shitposters who don't give a shit about the games, only which systems they appear on.
I wish Tetranodon wasn't a 2-star monster. He's too good of a design to be forgotten about after one hunt
i really hope that since this'll be a high rank game, the power curve is flattened a bit and all the normal monsters get a chance to shine all throughout the game. even if it means deviant/rampage or whatever variants
I'm debating between longsword and insect glaive for Rise. I've started with a different weapon for every new monhun game, and I'd like to choose between these two. I really liked the iai stuff on LS, just cause it looks fun to do well. And IG looks like it just fits in with the setting, with aerial mobility and having lots of animal helpers
Will this be on PC? I'd play the fuck out of this.
as someone whos been playin since 3u I like it. I only use it like once every 100 hunts or so and makes me feel like a fucking failure. Esp first time I went for rajang in mhw, restocked went back to fight him and carted steaight away, didn't even get to use a pot.
monster hunter usually has a portable line and a main line, cept for the 3ds games that combined both in one. So most people assume its gonna be a switch exclusive.
Is there a reason most of the monsters are one or another variation of a dragon?
>Posting the version that cuts out a bunch of shit at the beginning
OP is retarded but I can't blame him. This one here is the only full upload with translation but the guy who made it made some shitty foreword for it, gotta skip a minute ahead so you don't have to suffer his obvious attention-seeking.

Eventually with emulation. Considering the cross content with Amiibo and Stories 2, it's probably not leaving the Switch officially.
I fucking hate that. World is fun but I like the handheld games outside of the fact they're on handheld which is obnoxious to play.
Emulation is guaranteed to take off fast.
Monster Hunter has few skeletons and there are many moves each skeleton can perform, with specific monsters having only access to a bunch. There's a lot more intersection than just say, rathian, pink rathian and gold rathian, even some less obvious ones.
It's easier to add variation that way, while allowing for more varied builds inb4 muh min-maxing
They are generally the most popular with fans and gameplay tends to be geared towards dragon monsters.
It makes it easier for ultra shitters to finish the game but is mostly irrelevant. The only issue would be bad players gumming up the online but you can always just find decent people to play with easily and ignore them.
no pc no buy
dmg numbers are shit and will be a performance booster when turned off on shitch, the platypus monster using sumo techniques was cool tho
Not really, people just like to pretend MH was hardcore
Damage numbers fuck the immersion but let people grow, as they see mid hunt what parts give the biggest numbers.
This, can't go back to sub 30fps MH. I still play mhgu when I go in a trip or something but just makes me crabe mhw, even tho the monsters and easier gameplay are really fun in mhgu.
Its funny because the "muh war of attrition" is something only actual shitters experienced, if you put some thought you could just bring extra mats to craft shit during hunt downtimes.
It's like World but better
It's gonna make classicfags seethe
And I'm gonna play it day one.
I think it would be better if they only had damage numbers in the training area so you can get a feel for every attack's power since motion values aren't ever given in game
maybe if it didn't have the OP anime wirebug
