They can't keep my attention for more than an hour and I can sit through a literal 12 hours playing turn-based strategy games.

They allow you to get lost in your own comfy world you can manifest however you desire

For a quick dopamine hit, given the choice between jacking off and playing Just Cause 2, I'll choose Just Cause 2. So they are just about that level of fun.

Just do chores in real life. You can make a cozy home in real life, though may just be a clean personalized apartment. Fuck roommates btw.

Relaxing is relative. Stardew can be, so can mowing down thousands of lives in a game like Path of Exile

Some games are nice because they're NOT deeply engaging. It allows you to multitask. For example, say you want to listen to music or a podcast or an audiobook, but you get bored just sitting there doing nothing or distracted if you engage in something too complicated. A mindless game like this works perfectly.

Stardew has a timer, and I can't stop my brain from trying to optimize the amount of shit I can get done each day. Games where you can explore at your own pace and just wander around and find side shit in whatever order like Wind Waker work better for me. What are some comfy games without timed events?

Aren't they kind of grindy and empty? I played 1 back when it came out, and was annoyed by how little there was to do for a farming sim after beating the main story content, which if I'm remembering correctly didn't even tie up the story

There are achievements, you unlock another room for the kid I think, your wife will make you breakfast, and sometimes she'll help around the farm

Stardew is awesome but gets dull once you've done everything, like an mmo once you've got the best gear: you're just kind of waiting for new content or enough time to have passed that you want to do it again.
