This was the worst TGS ever.
This, plus the Microsoft offensive... Yeah.
It's over.
Don't expect anything interesting coming from this country regarding vidya.
Japanese video game industry is over
>Mostly bland sequels or shitty remasters
>Nothing really new or interesting
Man this year of gaming was the worst since 2015.
lol go shill kikesoft somewhere else, faggot.
I don’t expect Japanese devs to make significant strides into next gen until they get the full picture of whats going on with hardware sales in Japan. More than likely, Switch will be at the top still, so I still expect a lot of games to come on that. Beyond that, it will depend on how well PS5 sells there. And if it is not that great, then there will be not much point into making next gen Japanese games that are not Switch oriented. Xbox sens to be making a surprising push, but we will see if this has any sustainability or if its just the initial hype phase
Nintendo still strong thought.
>Dynasty Warriors' 20th anniversary project is a mobile game.
NOOOOOOOO XBOX WILL SAVE JAPAN
Japanese developers and publishers are all just moving to the PS5, hence the severe lack of software at this years TGS. Switch was never an option for these people.
But Sony and the PlayStation brand is Californian now.
It's almost like COVID-19 fucked everything up. Weird thought I know.
It's not like Ubisoft, Bethesda and the like are less in the shitter.
Back to bed, PrinceHeir
>Japanese developers and publishers are all just moving to the PS5
How are they all moving to the brand that they were on, then betrayed causing them to leave? Atlus isn't the only one that has been shit on and thus showing a hatred for the company.
What did they show? Dynasty ripoff and??
That’s how TGS been for at least 8 years now, your first time watching TGS?
> Don't expect anything interesting coming from this country regarding vidya.
The majority of companies stopped announcing new games on TGS, they all announce them out of nowhere, during Nintendo Directs, E3, etc.
Wait until next year for new announcements.
Japanese devs are moving to PC, Switch, and Xbox.
>Don't expect anything interesting coming from this country regarding vidya.
I haven't in years.
Playstation is the most important platform for games developers, so they will continue to be loyal and support blue no matter who.
don't
care
still
a
weeb
>Playstation is the most important platform for games developers
No, the most important is the one that allows them to make money. Sony is hurting them, and with a new console comes a new install base. Resetting the install base makes it easy for them to start supporting another system. Either way, they have already shown their willingness to move over to PC + Switch and that isn't going to magically change with a new console.
Hopefully more come to Xbox.
Don't know how much it is, but they had no problem selling out on preorders in Japan. Might be a sign that Japs are fed up with Sony and moving to M$ instead. Japan may be a MUCH smaller market than the US, but Jap companies still love to cater to their market first and ignore what we like over here. Not that we should be an issue either. Xbone actually was pretty neck in neck in the US and mainly lost the lead due to its poor performance outside of the US. SeX is setup to do better in the US than Sony, and I think the rest of the world may be tired of Sony's shit too. Only time will tell though.
Yes and that is Playstation, the platform that has been the most important to these companies throughout most of their history, you just saw TGS 2020 and saw that most of them didn't show much, and that is entirely because they are backing blue already, they are already decided, they may slowly move to green as they are bought out by Microsoft or if the Xbox actually takes off, but lets be real here, it won't.
Agreed
>Yes and that is Playstation
No... that is PC. Again, Jap games have ALREADY been moving to PC. This isn't a what-if. This is reality user. On top of that, when the PS5 releases it won't have the install base of the PS4 so no, it isn't the most beneficial place to release games. PS4 may still get some stragglers released for the next couple of years, but after that it is over. At that point, PS5 will HAVE to be a clear winner of next gen for continued support and right now it isn't poising itself for that position. Best case scenario they are looking at as of now is a slight lead. All they have is people clinging onto the glory days of Sony and haven't been paying attention to how much the company has fallen. I used to own every single type of Sony/Playstation product I could, and yet they even managed to drive away a loyal customer like me. Now I can't even stand the idea of buying a game for PS4 if it is available on another system.
Playstation has historically and even last gen been the biggest platform for Japanese, people like you specifically just don't get that PC is an eternal evergreen platform, you make a game for it once, it's going to be selling there for a decade, and that's extremely useful for cult classics that take years to get a large fanbase.
You have already seen PS5 trending well above Xbox in every metric coming into this gen, most third parties have already aligned with Playstation as well, the only reason Series X is getting any buzz is because they bought Bethesda, something that happened in the last week, so why anyone would think that somethign from a week ago has basically decided the next gen is just pure retardation.
You can definitely disregard Switch because strong support to indicate a large scale move at TGS 2020 failed to materialize, and there was a noticeably small presence at TGS 2020 anyway indicating that companies are busy working towards next gen hardware.
It doesn't matter what you personally think of Playstaiton, PS5 has already won, another generation in a row, Gal Gun is like the only game that isn't following suit, a game that is just inherently incompatible with Playstations censorship.
Don't worry, in two hours will air the real highlight of TGS and actual GOTY of this year - Genshin Impact!
oh wait... its chinese.. you are right.
>Playstation has historically and even last gen been the biggest platform for Japanese
That would be Nintendo handhelds. Your fictional world isn't even imaginable due to how laughable it is.
>people like you specifically just don't get that PC is an eternal evergreen platform
I'm not understanding where this means PC is not a platform for getting more game sales. In fact it just proves me right if anything.
>You have already seen PS5 trending
No? All I've seen is a little bit of fanboyism.
>most third parties have already aligned with Playstation as well
Umm... So we are just pulling fake shit out our ass now? How about backing up your random bullshit with examples.
>Series X
Isn't part of my argument even if I do think it will perform a lot better than Xbone did.
>is because they bought Bethesda
>ignores pricing being better than PS5 causing a buzz
>ignores PS5's $70 games as negative publicity that helps SeX
>ignores buzz about $35/m financing option
>ignores CONSTANT buzz about gamepass
>ignores all the other buzz
Yeah okay.
>why anyone would think that something from a week ago has basically decided the next gen
That is all it took to kill Xbone. One bad decision that they even cancelled. Don't remember Sony's "heres how you borrow a game" advertisement and how much people loved it?
>You can definitely disregard Switch
Nope.
>It doesn't matter what you personally think of Playstation
Finally something smart out of your mouth. I've been playing games for the last 30 years and I've never been wrong on how I saw gaming playing out. I've never made the mistake of letting my subjective feelings cover up reality unlike certain people in this conversation. People even laughed at me when I told them that Blu-ray's success was set in stone over HD-DVD when Sony included it as an integral part of PS3.
>Gal Gun is the only game
>ignores Disgaea 6
>ignores all the Sony exclusives released on PC
I could list more examples but why waste my breath.
Couldn't have find a more appropriate pic to swing your own point home, Japanese gaming is getting oversaturated with all their Joan of Arc/Jeanne d'Arc renditions
I really dont understand why people still think playstation is home of the weeb games. Ironically they're the most anti-weeb company even compared to Microsoft.
>Playstation has historically and even last gen been the biggest platform for Japanese
Yet the Switch has outsold PS4 in Japan and its Japanese library runs circles around PS4 library.
Nintend handhelds only ever really had more games, but games that were made by 1/10th the development team of a main Playstation game, it's not really a like for like in your case.
You're ignoring why devs are on PC, and how they are on PC, no Japanese dev makes games around the PC platform and consumer base, games are ported there in addition to their main platform which is always a Playstation
PS5 trailer views, twitter trends, early sales, and just general internet buzz well outweighs Xbox.
Final Fantasy XVI wasn't revealed for Xbox that's for sure, major Japanese devs are right in on Playstation.
Playstation Buzz is just well ahead of Xbox, anyone can look at things to tell
Xbox One was already trending below PS4, that was just the nail in the coffin
You absolutely can disregard the Switch for third parties, we just saw it live, few titles at TGS, developers gearing up for next gen, Switch given the cold shoulder once more.
Your post just flat out denies reality, you're right there is no point in wasting anymore breath on this, I'm already right, and will continue to be right for the rest of the generation.
So Switch is the most relevant platform in Japan because companies port old games and indie titles to it, instead of putting their major releases on it. I guess that is sound logic.
Weeb developers are reliant on the Playstation fanbase for their games to sell, hence why in spite of it selling less than the Switch in Japan and censorship actively gutting a lot of titles, there are still a lot of devs releasing cut down games on the hardware.
