What are your unpopular gaming opinions?

that reddit is good and welcome here. i don't actually believe that but it would make for a good example of an unpopular opinion.

PC gaming has been a waste of money since about 2006

The last remnant was a fun game that had a lot of interesting ideas, its truly a shame that it never got a sequel to polish its many rough edges.

there's nothing inherently in games being easier now
old games were hard because they were short as fuck, so they had to artificially stretch the game
nowadays you can actually make game have enough content to take more than a day to finish

These threads are pointless. You're either gonna get someone putting in some outlandish shitpost to garner (yous) like insulting games people like, or you get people praising games barely anyone has played or heard of, the fans of which already like it, and those who dont wont play it anyway.

Ex: Ocarina of time is overhyped and boring, and Quest 64 was much better.

10 to 12 hours is the ideal length for a video game

Expectations of top tier graphics destroyed flood of decent games with occasional pearl in it. Now it's either pretty good indie styled arts graphics or top tier photorealistic one.

True but for me it was 2010

I realized the pc's are gettting a LOT more expensive than consoles and offer too little in terms of power.

Gacha is a good system for F2P who aren't weak/rich enough to spend on those games to get ripped off for jpgs.

Dead Space tier order is:
3 > 1 > 2
Metal Gear Solid Tier order is:
3 > 4 > 1 > 5 > Portable Ops > MGS Pachinko > Self-Immolation > 2
Majoras Mask and Twilight Princess are the best LoZ games.
The PS Vita was Sony's best console.
Cybernator and Lagoon are underappreciated.
DooM Eternal sucks, and only makes me want to play DooM 2016.
Dark Souls is unfinished trash, and the playerbase desperately wants it to be a deep and involved story, so they just make shit up to sustain it when in reality it's actually quite a "hollow" experience through and through.
The only thing that makes a Game Souls-Like is having wonky forced multiplayer, making Bloodborne and Sea of Thieves the only Souls-Like games in existence.
Bloodborne Kart should unironically exist.

competitive gaming is fucking boring and gay and having casual fun with your buddies is infinitely more enjoyable

but most gamers are insufferable faggots with no friends so they need the allure of grinding ranked to reach their goal LP to be motivated to play games

instead of
>i want to have fun with my friends
most gamers now day
>i want to git gud and grind to Diamond

and because there are so many of these faggot fucks, game devs cater to them, and kill off waves of casual gamers who are sick of doing poorly in games designed for sweaty gamers

hence the popularity of fall guys & among us

i guarantee you EVERYBODY who has fun with among us & fall guys TRIED to play valorant, CS, CoD, a fighting game, etc, and got fed up of getting shit stomped

I Don't like Majora's Mask due to strict time limits
I Don't like Royales/Arena because its not my type of gameplay with VSH being an exception.
I like playing Starbound

6th gen is the most generic/boring era followed by 7th gen thanks to normalfags slowly becoming the main audience.
8th gen gave the most diverse games because of indie scene.

No hate but what exactly in majora's do you think has a "strict" time limit? Outside of 2 or 3 side quest triggers I can't imagine what else there is.

agreed wannabe esports losers are truly pathetic . PC gamers are pathetic in general

Yoko Taro games are severely overrated. He and his multiple playthrough bullshit narrative can fuck off. He doesn't deserve to ask that much time out of anybody.

sports games are more legitimate games than any weeb or wizard shit or whatever gay shit nerds play

Dodge rolling is fucking stupid, constantly throwing your body on the ground as a defensive maneuver looks retarded. More games should have simple side steps or dashes as dodges instead, especially if the game has a lot of humanoid enemies.

I agree with you about MM, however I love the game itself because it's truly unique

MOBAs killed classic PC games as a source of adventure and displaced it with a competetivness.

Sang Froid: Tales of Werewolves is kino held back by its tiny budget and weird tutorials.

Twilight princess was unironically the best zelda game made to date. I have argued this with my siblings for 3 years since BOTW came out. Yes, i will die on this hill, my mind will not be changed.

Not really unpopular but I don't think it's talked about much, one of the reasons Nintendo is so popular is because it teaches people new to gaming every basic control where as every other platform assumes players have prior knowledge on the basics of jump, Crouch, shoot, how to operate the inventory etc

Black Souls >>> Black Souls 2
Lorefags wont admit this since they can't understand the concept of fun.

I spent my entire teenage years grinding to the top rank in csgo. I've put nearly 3000 hours into that game. It was basically video game crack to me. I love it but i fucking hate it so much at the same time and i can't stop myself from going back to it and binge playing MM for a month every now and then. There's just something about being statistically better than 90% of the other players that feels so good to achieve, even if it's not actually a real achievement and no one but myself cares. I just really enjoy being good a comp shooters like cs and rainbow 6. I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea, that's fine, but it doesn't ruin gaming at all. Play a different game that you enjoy like fall guys or whatever FOTM you're currently having fun with, just don't come in and ruin my fun on my game of choice by bitching about not being as good.

A big chunk of Indies games are still normies game

This really only pertains to Zig Forums, but gaming as a hobby isn’t difficult to enjoy. Zig Forums really makes it sound like 99% of games are trash. If you feel this way you’re not really an enthusiast, you’re a niche gamer with extremely selective, contrarian taste. But it’s all a ruse anyways because even Zig Forums plays these “bad” games. If they weren’t playing them they wouldn’t have the knowledge to bitch about them as much online. What’s really happening is Zig Forums likes a lot of games, even soulless AAA titles, but inflates every negative aspect online to fit in.
>capeshit
>GAAS shit
>AAA shit
>movie game shit
>open world shit

Zig Forums likes all of it but desperately wants to fit in so they pretend to hate it. The truth is, most games are fun, and groups like Easy Allies know this and can play so many games and enjoy them all.

suck my non-sweaty gamer cock, loser

No thanks, i'm not a faggot.
>implying my cock is sweaty
Only time i get BSTL is when i'm working. I have air conditioning at home so i'm good there. I hope you enjoy your time playing video games user, i know i do.

I have 600 hours in Hyrule Warriors and I'm glad the botw prequel warriors doesn't have a shit ton of returning nonsense characters and a time travel plot to excuse that.
Hyrule Warriors existed as a mindless fanservice game, botw's prequel is heavily story related, and a small number of playable characters is totally okay for this purpose.

The only strict time limit in Majora's Mask is the first cycle, before you get the ocarina. From then on, time is infinite and merely a device for scheduling NPCs, which gives them more life and believability than NPCs in almost every modern game.

New Game+ that buffs the enemies instead of leaving them exactly as they are is fucking bad. The whole point is to be overpowered.

Xbox + PC is a great combination

What about games where the hardest difficulty is locked until you beat it once? I see it more as: you finished the game, you can move on, or if you really enjoyed it you can go again and this time have your skills tested. You’ll have to use everything you’ve learned from the first play through and you’ll have everything unlocked from the beginning. I’d personally rather be challenged on a second run of something I’ve already finished than mindlessly smashing through it with no worry.

Aside from a few notable titles, video games didn't get good until the 4th gen. The NES and SMS are novelties, and the 2nd gen and lower are just dog shit.
I always cringe when I see people with a wall of NES games. You're mindless collectors who will never play the majority of those games for 5 minutes or longer.

Go play another musuo, incel who hates challenge.

Zelda series is overrated. Only play Ocarina of Time and i dont have any desire to continue. i dont remember where i decide to stop playing
