Probably close to zero in normal conditions since they designed the entire thing around cooling.
The thing is fucking massive. I'd be surprised if it comes anywhere close to overheating.
50%. It either will or it won't

Its big precisely to avoid that
It shouldn't since they have a lot of space for cooling

Cope thread?
they will probably be pushing shit-tracing so yeah that bitch will heat up
Yeah just like those slimline aleinwares, right bros?
The theory is that nightmarish design is necessary because the thermals were already that bad, and it may not be enough to mitigate them
how can i get a pre-order bros
Why would PS5 thermals be worse than Xbox SeX when the AMD SoC has the same base design as the one in the Xbox SeX?
We just found out it's dropping frames in its flagship game DeS while running at just 1440p like rumors said it was. The thermal issue rumors are looking like they hold more weight now.
I think you have cause and effect reversed. It looks like the shit they slapped together has horrible thermal issues, and so they shat out this terrible oversized wifi router design as a massive cope.
That's why I say it shouldn't. This is assuming Sony employs competent designers and engineers to not fuck shit up.
You don't. Went to Gamestop on the 25th, 9 hours before they opened. All 8 spots were taken by people who got there at 10pm the night before, when they open at noon the next day. Online orders are all taken by bots, scripts, and scalpers. It's fucked.
Xbox is literally a vent for an ac bro
>Blower heatsink
High.
Theres probably a higher chance that it gets knocked over
Isn't the PS5 using an overclocked CPU or something like that? OCing gives you a boost but it has a dogshit efficiency curve.
I'm predicting another launch PS3 where the thing gets hot enough to fry eggs and has a jet fan just to keep it from bursting into flames.
Dude I'm being funny obviously, those things overheat to death even the best unless they use laptops cups and shit. Even then they still overheat. Chances are it will have as many problems as these 308's with their shenanigans of fucking DYING lmao.
PS5 is much bigger physically than the Xbox SeX so I would expect it to be better at heat dissipation. Also both of them have SoCs based on the same 7nm AMD Zen 2 design. It makes no sense to assume PS5 will have bad thermals.
This is scary
Today someone made a twitter bot that tweets PS5 restocks
twitter.com
The chassis design screams "we had ridiculous overheating problems and had to use every quick and dirty trick in the book to prevent it from committing sudoku". Both sides curved so it can't lay flat nor have anything on top, ridiculous fins protruding out like safety bars in order to prevent it from being placed against anything else flush, ridiculously massive size, etc.
This thing is gonna be YLOD x1000
>Isn't the PS5 using an overclocked CPU or something like that?
PS5 CPU is clocked lower than the Xbox SeX though. On the other hand, the GPU is clocked higher albeit with only 70% as many CUs which should balance out the increased heat from each CU on the PS5. Interesting difference between the Xbox SeX and the PS5 is more CUs at lower clocks (Xbox SeX) is better for higher res with lower framerate (even with lower res), while fewer CUs at higher clocks (PS5) is better for higher framerate with better graphics quality but at lower res.
its so sad, after the ps3 it felt like all you where buying was a gimped pc with games that wanted to be casual pc games with no gameplay, and ps4 only had like 2 games, how much will 5 have? 0 i bet
That's not even close to the truth
Again it makes no sense to expect thermal issues that the Xbox SeX won’t also have. On the other hand, that design which does scream overheating issues is probably optimized so the PS5 can stay cool and silent even at peak performance.
What parts aren’t true? Please fact check me with sources, otherwise GTFO paid shill.
>more CUs at lower clocks ... is better for higher res with lower framerate
>fewer CUs at higher clocks ... is better for higher framerate with better graphics quality but at lower res.
Sounds like broscience, do you have any source on that?
The Gamestop shipment on Friday was out in 5 minutes, make an account with cc info in advance and pray
Dude
Their main attraction is a remaster of a game still on circulation
You do the math
I think it will fall over more than overheating
Is it going to sound like a jet engine like the ps4?
More CUs is good for parallelizing work which is what a higher resolution is (see how Cinebench benchmark breaks the scene up into many squares that are rendered independently and how the more cores you have the better the performance you get). On the other hand, the faster each CU is the faster it can render its portion of the screen (higher framerate) and the more it can do within that portion (more detail, more effects, etc. which is what I meant by higher visual quality). But again, fewer CUs means you can only pull that off with a lower resolution. So it is a tradeoff and it’s interesting what PS5 has favored in that tradeoff vs. the Xbox SeX.
I'm not the user you're talking to, but my two cents is that the SeX design is much more thermally efficient. It's a known good design that follows the trash can mac pro format.
One huge fan at the top that pulls in cool air over a huge heatsink in the middle of the console, compared to a flat rectangle. This allows the heatsink to be taller and bulkier than the PS5. Also, the last gen Xbox one X was smaller and more powerful than the PS4 pro, while having no heating issues at all. PS4 pro is well known for overheating and having loud fans. Microsoft has proven they're good at designing consoles that don't overheat (in recent years) while sony has done the opposite with the ps4 pro.
I'm expecting actual source, any tech review article or video?
Not more of your conjured bullshit.
