I think it has a shot. Part of what attracted people to the Xbox 360 was Xbox Live. It was not just that it was cheaper than the PS3 or that it had better games, although for a few years both these things were true. It was also the power of an exclusive service. Online gaming wasn't completely new to console gamers, but Xbox Live was better than anything that had come before it. I think Game Pass could be another Xbox Live, a service that draws people in. As for the other factors that play a role in consumer decision-making—price, power, games—I think Xbox is good on price and power; they just need to show games. If they can show gameplay for games like Fable, Forza, the rumored Perfect Dark game, and Starfield, they'll be in a golden position to compete with Sony.
