Shadow of the Colossus is an overrated, garbage game. the whole game is a glorified boss rush with a mass amount of nothing to do inbetween bosses. just cause a game's pretty doesn't mean it's good.

Every souls games fucking sucks and they ruined gaming due to the hundreds of soulslike that popped up afterwards.

It means that the AI is cool for the first couple hours but then you start to realize that every enemy encounter is a slightly different set-piece room with enemies kicking tables out for cover in nearly the same way. It was a 6/10 on first playthrough and I realized how shit it was on subsequent attempts. FEAR probably inspired all these shitty Metro games as well.

Metro exodus was a game that couldn't decide if it was open world or linear, and it really suffered for it

Battlefield V is a fun game and most people who disagree only do so to fit in

Tribes Ascend's "speed cap" was one of the better changes Hirez made, unfortunately when the game was already dying. It's one of the most misinterpreted things attributed to the game's downfall, but it was an attempt at actually making the game faster, not slower.

People kneejerked when they heard "if you have the flag, you'll slow down until you reach a certain point". Insipid fuckstains thought this meant "no more fast caps", when in reality, it slowed you to 250kph. Most inbreds couldn't go faster than 200kph, so this didn't affect most people. However, there were assholes who were picking up back to fronts going 500kph+.
What did this mean? If someone is going 500kph even with a rage proc as a chaser you COULD NOT catch this individual, as rage only really brought you up to 200+. What were the counters to someone going that fast? A medium on flag, or a sniper. You could have a heavy on flag, forcefields, turrets, mines, but these could all be taken out by the capper anyway. Literally all of the tools you had available to you were things that DIDN'T move and meant the best way to combat these people were literally to go slower. It was fucking stupid.

By introducing the speed cap, it meant that these dickheads abusing level geometry (to turn 90 or even 180 degrees) to go over 500kph, it meant you could ACTUALLY CHASE. It ultimately made more mobile options viable for chasing, which in turn meant MORE people in the game would go faster. 10 people going 250kph+ is significantly better than one person going 500kph and everyone else standing still.
