The fucking SNIPER RIFLE was also locked to secrets only. Even the ammo for both the Laser Gun and Sniper Rifle was Secret only.

Yeah, same with the sniper rifle. Both are found normally in the DLC, though.

It wasn't much of a problem. The game was very clearly balanced to be beat with the non-secret weapons.

But I agree, deleting swathes of enemies and friendlies and leaving a a empty gap in the battle is pretty cathartic.

Despite Sam being knocked out I found the cut to Ugh Zan suddenly just being there pretty damn jarring. Also, how the hell did they drag his corpse away from the portal that quickly afterwards?!

Are you serious? I got myself on top of a truck, jumped to the little news stand thing, then had to make a jump towards the street lamp and grab it mid air. And all jumps had to be done perfectly just after i started to slide off the object. I could have just jumped to it. I could have just jumped to it.

Yeah. Oh, and the first time you find the sniper rifle is right before you lose all of your weapons, so if you find it, don't feel the need to conserve ammo.

That can be deactivated by turning the shadow dithering DOWN in the advanced GPU speed options.

That's serious sam in a nutshell. SS4 has performance issues so be aware.

I miss double ammo on Serious difficulty. I miss universal ammo packs. I miss being given every gun and being able to really go wild with them. TSE was the best.

If you can get the game running without too much stuttering or low stream of textures then sure.

If you're a sam fan you want it. They also made it clear it was a traditional linear sam game several times. They just said it would have sections of large open areas with other objectives.

It never was advertised as open world.
Even back in 2018 they said that there will be mostly normal linear levels and one or two will be in a large open area.
