Nah it was a "hidden masterpiece" about 10 years ago. Now GTAV is out GTAV is garbage and GTAIV is a masterpiece. Wait until GTAVI is released and GTAV will be a masterpiece and VI will be garbage. Then just carry on like that.

IV was the first GTA game I ever actually owned (rented Vice City and III back in the day) and I've played it way more than V. Playing V again and still think the story missions are way better overall.

I replayed them all recently starting from 3 and this is easily the most soulless and shitty one with barely anything to do felt like a tech demo.

This game is incontrovertible evidence that game critics are swayed by certain factors like a game being from a certain developer or belonging to a certain series. GTA 4 is a 8/10 game at best, and yet it's one of the highest rated games of all time. Critics felt the need to give it high scores because of its pedigree.

gta iv feels dated, gta v is the only gta that didn't become obsolete after its release and rockstar is taking full advantage of that.
