This level absolutely fucking sucks

This level absolutely fucking sucks

Really? Why?

It's pretty simple but its a neat throwback to SMB3

it scared me

easily one of my favorites
best aesthetic and gimmicks
the water sections are so nostalgic for me, the small little beachfront to the big fish pond
and just the novelty of both exploring a tiny map and a huge one

the lakitu is too hard to kill. also its weird that one lakitu is filming me, while the other tries to kill me

Stomping on the tiny mini Goombas was awesome. The big version of the level could have been better though

Thats the wrong image for Wet Dry Town

>knocks you off the island

It always surprises my friends to hear I hate this stage. I think Rainbow Ride is also terrible but mostly because it’s got a lot of waiting in it. It’s just boring.

That Lakitu is gathering intel for Bowser under the dishuise of helping amario

I like it
Rainbow Ride does suck though

Why do the later stages of Super Mario 64 shit the bed so hard? Like they are all so fucking bad after the Boo Mansion.

>the lakitu is too hard to kill
Just jump to hit it from below.

By far the most annoying level to get 100 coins in.
Accidentally touch a slope? Slide off to death.
Groundpound too late so you stomp big goomba instead? Bye blue coin.
Mistime wind jump? Later gator

Tick tock clock is great though.

Wet Dry World sucks more

Frontloading the best content is a classic development move

Upper floor stages > Ground floor stages >>> Basement stages. That is all.

I remember having a good time with it.

The worst levels were Tall Tall Mountain and Tick Tock Clock, because they were both "play the same linear obstacle course over and over again". TTMs stars were:
>climb to the top
>climb to the top again, then talk to a monkey
>climb to the top yet again, go down a slide
>climb to the top a fourth time, go behind the waterfall
While Clock's stars were all "climb to the top repeatedly, but stop at different places"

>Tick tock clock is great though.

Not with that dog shit camera and invisible spaces everywhere.

Post 'em
I last played SM64 with a "no star boot" mod so my opinions may be different from normal

>Don't talk to me or my son ever again.

its good

You're right but fuck you, both are still great.

I have 86 stars. If I can get a 100 I'll be happy to stop there and not have to deal with this shit game anymore.

Shifting Sand Land is great

Why not stop now? You only need 70 to beat the game.

Rainbow Ride was also garbage for the same reason.

you absolutely fucking suck

they become more and more linear

I am having 100000000000000000x an easier time than I did with Shit Shot Clock

I love it in concept for being so unique, but holy shit the amount of instant death pits piss me off

tik tok is probably one of the only worlds that feels like it actually has proper level design and doesnt feel like the worlds were just weirdly made and weirdly designed (besides rainbow ride but waiting is boring). I love sm64 to death but many of the worlds just feel awkward with how they were properly designed although its forgiving since its one of the first 3D games. You can also use marios movement to his full potential in that level but people probably just played it really slow and got mad at the level design for being hard
