Super Mario Sunshine is so fucking boring

Me right now because I can't figure out how to get Yoshi in Ricco Harbor, I'm sure it's something braindead easy but I'm an idiot so I've been wandering around for about an hour now

The only bad parts of the game are getting sent back to the hub world after getting a shine, the motherfucking blue coins and Yoshi melting in water.

Play other parts of the game and his egg will appear. Or stomp on the top of the fruit silos if his egg is already there.

You need to unlock him in the other worlds first. I did this exact thing last night because i was getting all the shines in Ricco Harbor and the first world. You need to beat the Amusement Park level with Yoshi and then you can access his eggs.

I like it a lot but I wish there were more obstacle courses and just levels in general

You need to complete episode 4 of Pinna for Yoshi to appear. Yes it's retarded that you get locked out from finishing a level before completing some arbitrary requirements, but that's how Sunshine works.

first you need to unlock yoshi proper, then he'll start appearing in the missions where he's needed

Sure a few levels are a little challenging, but I never found this game to be hard.

I'm actually enjoying it more now than I did as a kid because my bullshit tolerance is stronger and I'm better at spin and side jumps.

You seem to forget that along with the widespread cultural impact the game has to actually be good. And if this game was made and released today it would be fucking horseshit. The camera issues, graphics and musical quality were acceptable in 1996 because it was fucking 1996. I still think the game has fun levels and tight controls but even those have been superseded by games like Odyssey and Hat in Time. What was once revolutionary becomes commonplace when the rest of the games industry catches up and starts using it. This is what zoomers mean when things "stop holding up," because we've been spoiled for good 3d game design choice for almost 20 years.
