My theory is that next fighter is supposed to be the E3 reveal we never got this year. Regardless I don’t expect anything good after Byleth and Min Min, I just want a character from games I play and not some shit I don’t care.

Well I want Crash for my friends and think Doomguy deserves a spot. I got my most wanted already with Ridley but there's still a few third parties that either would be cool or feel deserving. Cinderace sure as hell wouldn't feel like anything but a slap in the face especially after Byleth and Minmin.
Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news and all, but we already scraped the bottom barrel of the “3RD PARTY HYOPE TRAIN XDD”, with the street fighter knock off, so we’re better off getting characters from actual successful titles than literal whos only contrarians care about.

Well technically, she wasn't. Because Nintendo already had zero plans for doing anything for E3 at all this year even before it got canceled. But regardless, they didn't have two trailers prepped to show in June. They gave themselves two years to do this shit instead of one, so they're clearly not in any hurry to have these announcements done in a rush. Fuck just look at how Nintendo's been ever since last year's General Direct. Literally several months before Covid actually started lockdowns and Nintendo was already doing this radio silence shit.

Nintendo's doing this radio silence shit because they assume people lives have become incredible stressful having to adjust to Covid. A lot of Japanese people don't have good infrastructure to work from home or spend all of their at home. And releasing a game during this time seems like it wouldn't make a lot of money, at least in Japan. They're trying to give people time to breathe while almost simultaneously trying to get their shit together with things having changed due to Covid.
