Help me settle a debate Zig Forums. My friend says that Tick Tock Clock is the hardest stage in Super Mario 64. I try to tell him that the stage becomes exponentially easier if you stop time, and that Rainbow Ride is the hardest stage in the game. He's convinced that Tick Tock Clock is still harder.
What are your thoughts on the hardest stage in Super Mario 64?
Rainbow Ride but getting 100 coins in Tick Tock Clock is harder even in stopped time. Both are great stages and anyone who says otherwise suck. Wished they didn't have the gay slider music and had unique songs instead but I suppose that wasn't feasible for whatever reason.

Red Coins in the Sky is a bigger bitch than either.
TTC still has some tricky platforming near the top even with the time stopped. RR is just standing on carpets.
Benjamin Roberts
Do you even know what exponential means, retard? Hint, it's not "a big amount"
Bentley Wright
Rainbow Ride is harder because a mistake will likely cause death and loss of progress. In TTC you can fall a dozen times and not die or lose progress. Also when we were 8 it wasn't immediately obvious how you could stop time.
Samuel Howard
TTC is harder on his personalized copy
Nathan Myers
Mario 64 is fucking trivial, arguing over which stage is "harder" is pointless because they take basically zero effort. Come back after playing Sunshine, then we can talk about difficulty.
Daniel Perez
Yes it is, Einstein. It depends upon your context.
Your friend is a buffoon. Tick Tock Clock is a joke if you stop time. I still have PTSD from Rainbow Ride.
William Sullivan
>exponentially easier if you stop time You should write a paper on interpolation of exponential functions using only two data points
Jacob Harris
Math teacher here. Shut the fuck up, user used it correctly, unless you're purposefully trying to be a fag about literal mathematical definition, over measurement increase/decrease. Don't be a fag. I never got along with those motherfuckers in college.
Jaxon Kelly
>sunshine >difficult Hover nozzle
Jace Green
>Math teacher here. lmao you poor soul
Wyatt Lee
The difficulty doesn’t come from the platforming, it comes from convincing yourself to play through such a boring, shit game
Thomas Gutierrez
>user used it correctly He did not, you're just "user" larping as a math teacher lmao
Jackson Barnes
What grade? Elementary? So which of these definitions did he use, Euler?
TickTockClock Rainbow Ride is easy, you just need to be patient.
Camden Foster
Rainbow Ride is more difficult
Kayden Bailey
JRB. Fucking eel scared the shit out of me as a kid. Skipped that stage for a good 10 years.
Owen Flores
You're a little bitch if you stop time for any star other than the red coin star
Colton Thomas
What do you consider as an exciting game
Ayden Walker
>not stopping time for 100 coin star found the wallkicklet
Anthony Ward
you being a bebby bitch doesn't make the level hard
Caleb Perry
Rainbow Ride
How to stop time in Tick Tock Clock was written in every fucking strategy guide, or every fucking hint article in game magazines. Even Nintendo Power.
Levi Gray
> the stage becomes exponentially easier if you stop time But you can't do all the stars in stopped time?
As it is, rainbow ride isn't really hard either, it just involves a LOT of waiting around and any simple mistake will result in death + a lot more waiting.
There's a Toad one foot from the clock that tells you explicitly

Played through again for the first time in over a decade this past weekend. Got all 120 stars and honestly had the most trouble with Tiny-Huge Island, mainly because of the 100 coin star. All the coins are super spread out and not that many extra to spare, a bunch of camera angles suck, fish randomly killed me in one hit on one attempt, a lot of small platforms surrounded by pits and hazards meant to fuck you up for each, one of the fucking red coins requires at least a double jump over a bottomless pit, etc. Enjoyed the rest of the game and had no real problems with anything else.
Jason Reed
Holy fuck you are retarded. Way to show you are a high school drop out.
Yes you can. You just have to cartwheel/triple jump to get to higher levels, and triple jump-wallkick-dive to get to Thwomp, and you can just jump to the star that requires the hands to move. Those are the only stars that "require" the stage to be moving to reach, but in all honesty, you don't need the clock to be moving, if you know your jumps.
