I'm now currently starting it after finishing every other god of war game and I'm extremely dissapointed.
I hate the axe, sure his blades are overdone but they are a staple of the series, and the one thing I hate the most is the new voice actor for Kratos'. I despise him, i see the character on screen look just like him but then some strangers voice comes through and takes me out of it.
Did you like God of ps4?

Yup, liked it a lot. I played the GoW games as they came out though. It has been so long since Ascension, the voice change felt almost natural.
The axe is the best part of the game
This was my first God of War and I enjoyed it a lot. A bit too story heavy for me but I thought it was a really good experience overall and looking forward to the next one
there are good cutscenes so it's a movie game sorry
Disappointing normie trash. The changes they made for this game destroyed every further interest in the IP
I didn't hate it like other anons here but I did have problems with it. Now that Ragnaork is on the horizon they have no fucking excuse to not go balls to the walls crazy with the Norse encounters.
what did this game do that made it worse than the others? If i liked this should i even go back and try the others?
>I hate the axe
just keep playing...
I dunno, I only just fought the stranger and got started on my journey to the mountains. Maybe it'll grow on me.
It's not a bad game but at least for now it really does not feel like a God of War game. It got close when he finally used his spartan rage though
The series had to evolve, and the character along with it. You're an idiot.
It was alright. But they needed more unique bosses. Barring 'bosses' that they copy and paste two dozen times there's only about three.
>the series had to evolve
>by parodying and copying formulas that had already been done countless times before and removing the jump button
Lets not kid ourselves they did it to make it more accessible to normalfags.
>more accessible to normalfags.
PS4 GoW is much more difficult than previous installments
It has its moments, but for me its a random game with a god of war skin to sell more
They made it more accessible to people who aren't smoothbrain hack-and-slash coomers.
No longer are you just mashing square all the time, you actually have to think about what to equip.
I hope in the next game kratos goes crazy and kill all the norse gods like he did in GoW 3
I'm an idiot for liking how the series was?
I bought it because I expected a God of War game. It's fine that they're taking a new direction but they lost a fan in doing so.
I know they gained way more but still I think it's sad that one of my favorite series just isn't for me anymore
It was okay for the $17 i paid for it. It is not worth full price.

And now I don't care about it. That cuck needs to die.
It was ok, definitely disappointed overall though.
I thought the direction was lackluster and even lazy.
I liked it alright my first time through, but the camera, walking, and repetitive bosses make me never want to play it again.
It was shit for 90% of the game with it's boring linear locations and rinse and repeat enemies and puzzles. The end fight was good though despite being a QTE fest.
>PS4 GoW is much more difficult
Its the easiest GoW. Armor and upgrades and Atreus cheapen the combat even on GMGOW. The AI only has a few attacks which can be blocked or easily predicted. The slow paced combat also helps make it 100x easier.
>you actually have to think about what to equip.
Not really.
>equip AoE ability
>parry everything
>throw axe
>profit
It looked like the rebooted I to an entirely different style if game so I didn't even bother. God of War but Norse rally appealed to me. The franchise was a range of 5-7/10s but I liked them and a freshen up wouldn't have been good.
Then every preview was an escort of a child through a forest. I just didn't bother. At a similar time GT Sport was announced as online only so I sacked it off all together and sold my PlayStation.
The story is great, it's pretty awesome to include other pantheons, the whole "mithology exist in the places that believed in them" thing is just straight out of American Gods and i love that
Gameplay was cool, i love the other games too, GoW was one of THE games i most played in the PS2, but i really think a hacknslash like those wouldn't work in this direction.
I'm hyped for the next one, hope they announce it sometime next year

Wait what?
is this worth playing if i didn't like many other of sony's headlining exclusives? uncharted for example was boring to me
youtube.com
Mathew exposed GoW.
Yes, but I feel that it has no replay value and didn't like that you could only craft certain armor after they became obsolete.
I found it boring. The combat was a bit too sluggish coming from the last GoW
How new r u
