What do you mean close to perfection? Absolute shit Dpad with a core design flaw where even $20 3rd party Switch Pro clones have a better one. And while we're at it those same cheap controllers at LEAST have a fucking audio jack.
Imagine giving Nintendo the same money you would for a real controller and not even getting an audio jack. Also imagine selling a console without a usable controller at all and forcing evreyone to pay extra to get one.

Wiimote has a lot of sensors, IR was always accurate. It's the motion sensors in early Wiimotes that were iffy, but upgraded ones are on par with modern controllers.
