I remember when everyone was screeching at BF1 for casualifying the series, disregarding the setting and being overall shit. BF game debates are absolutely pointless. Newfags will call the last game which was their first a masterpiece and everyone will shit on the latest one regardless of any qualities.

Based, a return to a modern setting would be super underwhelming.

I'm not excited by the prospect of unlocking the SCAR for the 7th time in a decade. BF2, BFMC, BFBC, BFBC2, BF3, BF4. (Battlefield Hardline from a weapon perspective) Its so played out and tiring

While Diversity Doctrine is annoying enough, BF1 also kicks my head with class/weapon game design.
WW1 should not be filled with automatics. Even WW2 was not.
BF4 gave everybody an option to pick rifle or shotgun for every class, WHY NOT DO THIS IN WWI SETTING?
Not to mention they wasted the chance to have a historically accurate grenade-only class.
