Because they fucked up big time at the beginning, and months after that. I don't even know the actual state of the game, stopped playing that junk for a year or two.

How? It runs fine for me

I played the Beta and some months after release. Basically it was a shit show: patrols spawning on you, invincible ennemies, falls from the very floor into nothing etc. There was even an error that crashed your game that only happened in the Bridge of Shadows, meaning the whole run would get fucked at the very end.

Not to mention balance, which was somehow even worse. At least it had some fun stuff like Machine Gun Kruber in this video: youtu.be/6pV83xUkcVM

Great game with lazy and stupid devs

Its filled with bugs and gets broken again everytime new update (what updates?) come out. And everything is added too late with really bad decisions without good testing. The customization of weapons in weaves dlc should have been the baseline instead of rng crap that we have.

>playing post WoM
you didn't get to experience greatness

Who is the best to play as? I'm enjoying the fire lady but haven't really tried the others.

It's still eurojank. It wouldn't even be an exaggeration to say half the difficulty comes from fucked spawns and bugs. I fucking love it but every single fan agrees that the developers are faggots.

every new player seems to gravitate towards the elf and are always shit
if you're new and pushing higher difficulties bardin as his tank spec is always a solid choice until you learn the maps, pick a 2h hammer and never get hit by anything ever again

The game is very good at what it does, but chunks of the community have a hate boner for it because certain patches have made the game significantly harder and caused people to fail regularly at a difficulty level they used to easily clear, so now those people take every opportunity to complain about the developers.

All of Saltzpyre's careers are fun for me. Witch Hunter's great utility and good at clearing hordes and even elites if you're good with melee headshots, Bounty Hunter's a great special and boss killer, and Zealot is a tornado of death.

Kerillian's careers are also all fun but she's the premier noob character because of how two of her classes sort of encourage solo play, which is fatal in a team game. Definitely try her out too but try not to develop bad habits like rushing ahead to snipe specials or duel elites.

People constantly bitched about patrols spawning on you and in months of playing I never saw it once

Needs more active abilities

is the multiplayer peer to peer?

Yup

no fucking content
also its feels soulless with the missions completely disconnected instead of L4D style campaings

I heard you like DLCs, so I made a DLC for your DLC

I've gotten three separate friends to play the game and they all started with the elf. I haven't said a single thing about the characters yet but the first time I joined their game, they're on the fucking elf. It's hilarious.

I wish I could enojy this game because I fucking love warhammer but l4d'ish games tend to be really boring for me, I don't know why

Good for you.

>Cool down free elite kill button is shit

I think they meant the players are shit

I would have thought the fire mage would be the more popular noob option. It's basically like having a gun with unlimited ammo.

It is fine if you play it now. The "community" just bitched a lot and the developers made changes that did not need to be made. If you are going in blind then you will be okay.

It would be better if it was a first person RPG

Once you've played through each mission there's not much to the game.
Kind of a shame since the aesthetic, voice work and hints of a story are great.
It gets really repetitive and would have been better as a full on co op action rpg.

never NEVER listen to the shitters on Zig Forums EVER

I remember when on skittergate if you go through the portal as Kerillian with the shade career and activate infiltrate it would stay on for the entire mission, instead of deactivating after your attack it would just stay on and didn't have the timer either. It was fun playing with randoms and deleting Rasknitt in a few seconds and they're just standing there wondering what the fuck just happened. Or seeing a stormvermin patrol and just charging in and wiping it before your teammates can even react.

It is a good game; and there are dozens still playing the first one. Only issue is Fatshark (developers) being lazy retards, that take a year to just give a bunch of levels (of varying quality), or a class.
Its a masterpiece that doesnt deserve its own makers.

I would say you don't get much variation until later difficulties due to not needing to know or master all the mechanics to just plow through early on. Game can spawn a patrol and a monster on your ass anywhere it's basically yeah whatever and there are always heals around the corner up to champion.

Then you have weekly modifiers, and twitch mode (you don't need an account) to really spice things up. If you don't like the core mechanics enough to git gud then there's not much to it I guess.
