How was the Steam Link any better than just plugging your PC to the TV?

It was ment to be less of a hassle to bring your pc to your downstairs living room.

>PC is in bedroom
>Nice TV is in living room
doesn't take a genius to figure out

retarded to begin with
just buy a long hdmi cord

separate rooms more than 50 feet apart

just buy a wireless hdmi dongle

just buy a second rig for your living room poorfag

Who the fuck plugs their 5kg computer to their tv? are you retarded?

I have one and it's shit. It disconnects for a few seconds every now and then so I get dunked by whatever I am fighting, and it's a ROYAL ball ache to change monitors.

Are there any alternatives to the steam link? I ain't dragging my PC downstairs every time I want to do something.

It wasn't, but it is practical if your TV and PC is in different rooms

But is that worth the latency and input delay issues?

DYEL faggot

i usually use mine for local coop/party games and the latency is never an issue

>But is that worth the latency and input delay issues?
oh fuck tell me about it lad
i tried to play legend of dragoon on this thing and the fucking input delay has me fucking up every attack, it's shit, i had to learn the timings wrong to get it to work

I like it, I use to to play games on my tablet.

>latency
>input delay
I've personally never had a problem with mine, responds real nice.

They should upgrade it to WiFi 6

>Why would you stream videos from Youtube when you could just plug a 1000 km ethernet cable to their servers??????????????
A mystery for the ages

>plug an HDMI into TV
>fuck around with dual monitor settings in windows
>fuck around with sound options in windows so the game audio comes out of my sound bar and not my computer speakers
>games still open up on wrong screen
It's fucking annoying

This. The retards have been steadily increasing.

because a 50 foot hdmi cable lets you use your kb+m/controller across the house

Never noticed delay or any skipped frames.

found the virgin

Depends on the game, really.
Something like Cuphead is pretty much unplayable on a Link.

just get a wireless usb and ps/2 cable

oh really how'd you manage that, by looking in a mirror?

fucking owned

if you retards really care about latency don't play on your cheap ass tvs with 90ms input lag
this shits practically the same as playing a lan hosted game

Yes. Many monitors have usb ports in fact.

I wonder, does the app work better than the device, or what?

huh why did the tranny janny delete my posts

Apparently. That's weird, but yeah, is the app as good as the actual hardware?

4k hdr doesnt work over a cable longer then 7.5m

Never used the Steam Link hardware, only used it on my phone. The latency is decent to play some single player game, but i don't have the router near me so i haven't tested it properly.

the device works natively with a lot of devices ie controllers etc
the app supports higher resolutions however
i can say the performance of the app was worse on my tv than the device, but it's a cheap tv

basically for this . I only have one pc in my office and between where it is and the living room is it's too far/too much work to run a long as fuck hdmi cord thru the attic. It's easier to just use steamlink or the console that's in the living room for whatever I want to do in there.

I use it so I can play high-octane action games while on one of the exercise bikes in my rec room.
It's getting me in shape.
