What's the best mouse you've used?
Are there any features you wish were more common in mice?
Have you had to deal with wrist pain and how did you do it?
Mousetalk
I'm not exactly picky. But, the Razer Death Adder is a great deal if you buy the 30$ version. I use the G202(?) It's very similar to it. I'm curious about getting an ergonomic mouse though.
How ergonomic though? Just basic, or full slanted/vertical?
I work 9-5 in an office job, my hand and wrist are killing me. I can't play games.
I have no idea what to do.
First thing that could help is getting an armrest, and setting it level with your desk, so that you can use the mice comfortably from your elbow.
A good armrest aligned with the table is a real redpill.
Pic related + razer tartarus pro and adjustable armrests for the desk changed it all for me. Took about 3months to not feel any strain when working an entire day.
The G604 is the best mouse I've tried.
If you're lucky and don't get the doubleclick, the overall ergonomic and productivity is amazing.
The Mx ergo is great for when you don't need the speed of a normal mouse.
Tried a vertical mouse, shit sucked, just puts the strain in a different angle.
You ever tried the MX Master?
Consider a trackball. I've never had RSI, but I adore my trackball, and I hear they're good for it.
I just switch to a regular mouse occasionally when I play FPS games, which is almost never these days because they're all console garbage and you can only replay the good ones so many times.
The CST L-trac is the king of trackballs, simply because it barely ever needs cleaning. I open mine up once a year or so to get the dead skin and shit off it, versus the weekly cleaning every other trackball needs because they use those retarded little ball rollers.
Not for a long period.
I'd love to have a second scroll on the mouse. It's very useful on my tartarus though.
What do you even do with a second scroll?
This qt
Microsoft Intellimouse Pro
Hands down best mouse I've ever owned.
Wow I already knew Zig Forums was full of boomers and plebs but this is something else..
wtf this thing speaks to me.
What's the model?
what do you mean?
Kain Aimo 202 wireless
this thing
If you position your arm, height of chair, height of table right you will not get wrist pain. If only faggots understood this rather than buying those retarded sideways mouses.
>NO STOP YOU NEED TO USE THIS GAMER MOUSE WITH HOLES OR YOU'LL NEVER BE GOOD AT VIDEOGAMES
I need a wireless mouse with 6 side buttons. Any recommendations? The g604 would be perfect if it wasn't for the garbage qc
I have it set to scroll through the timeline for my work. It's perfect.
I've always thought that aren't side buttons 4-6 really unwieldy to press?
I love my CST. Just not the button layout; feels like it was architected by an alien
I've never needed anything more than a $10 Logitech mouse you can get at Walmart.
Why there are essentially 2 trackballs on whole market? This shit is so much better than normal mouse, at least for me. And yes i do play fps with them, you can still so big turns with ball flick and keeping on target is easier with ball
i guess if i had to say one the ec1-a i currently have but every single mouse i've ever owned has annoyed me in some way
i loved the mionix naos, mainly the shape, but the middle click button kept dying, went through 3 of them (bought 2 one was a replacement under warranty) so i had to switch to something else
There are plenty of trackballs, the problem is that they're almost all dogshit. That includes anything from logitech.
The only good companies are ones you've never heard of, like CST, ITAC, and fucking 3D printed canadian shit. Because they're the only ones who aren't using those retarded little ball bearings that don't work.
Got this one like a month ago, I like it a lot for general pc usage even tho I don't have any wrist pain issues or whatever.
If it don't have a permanent cord it isn't worth shit.
They’re just a niche interest. Not much can change that either when people prefer to make snap judgements instead of experiencing the joy of using different technology for the sake of it. And you are correct, trackballs are excellent for gaming. I have used several for many years now across every genre myself. I do wish there was more innovation for them. I’ve sat and thought about how I would design my perfect trackball, if only I had the means I would bring it into existence
Ya. Swapped in a paramemecable and some nicer feet. It's god tier.
please share these ideas
Switched to an upright mouse after my wrists started killing me, but they all seem to be mediocre for games. Any recs?
Are there any issues you commonly experience with mice?
I always feel like the sidebuttons closer to the wrist in some mice are really uncomfortable to use.
I don't think trackballs are good for FPS games. I can use them, sure, but even after a solid decade of daily use with a trackball, I still can't aim anywhere near as well as I can with a regular mouse.
You're talking about the difference between, at best, 2 inches of fingertip movement, versus a full shoulder sweep that can easily be 30cm+. Maybe if you play with a 7cm/360, trackballs can work for you, but anyone sane doesn't play like that.
As for trackball design, honestly, the CST is close to perfect. I think I could maybe move up to a 3 inch ball and improve the button design to have something closer to the microsoft explorer, but the roller tech is good enough.
if using a mouse gives you wrist pain it means your diet is terrible and you need to stop eating man made food
Jokes on you, my food is made by the local dolphin community.
>What's the best mouse you've used?
Zowie FK1.
The only time I've ever had problems with any input device was when I tried playing DaS with a 360 pad with fucked up shoulder buttons.
Had swollen fingers for a few weeks
The numbers on the side of the razer naga are insanely useful, it's great for RTS, if you have a hotbar in a game, or even if you want to type numbers. Plus mine came with multiple grip sizes so I can use the large grip for maximum comfy
maybe I should give it a shot. I sit at the correct height with my arm at 90 degrees and playing Path of Exile for like two days these days kills my arm.
I recently lowered my DPI to 800 and am retraining myself to use my arm when I use my mouse vs just the wrist flicks that I've used for decades, but it's hard.
Maybe I should try out a trackball. I don't play much FPS anyways these days.
