>black plague
Acquire taste, please.

white day: a labyrinth named school (2001)

Revised list**

Darkwood
SOMA
Amnesia
Penumbra Black Plague
RE 1 remake

>resident evil
>scary
yeah if you're like 5 years old

Overture has good atmosphere and puzzles but its not scary at all. Its more of an adventure game if anything.

Name me one game other thats scarier other than SH2.

Yeah, I need a stupid looking predictable unkilable chaser for a game to be spoopy!

silent hill 1 for starters
resident evil has never been scary bro

Step aside faggots. For comfy Halloween gaming:
REmake
Castlevania II: Simon's Quest & Super Castlevania IV
House of the Dead 1
Silent Hill (any one or combination of 1 - 3)
Deadly Premonition
Fatal Frame 1 or 2
Until Dawn

The Beast Inside. Even though it is a bit of walking sim and has frustrating moments, the atmosphere is great and it has some genuinely creepy moments.

Siren 1 & 2
SH 1-4
Rule of Rose
Fatal Frame

^^

pretty good one

For Castlevania 2 - i highly recommend playing a rom with the retranslation patch.

Yes you do, because the dogs were not threatening in overture. Only difficult enemy was the worm and its quite brief

SOMA
P.T.
Silent Hill 2
RE7
I dunno a 5th one so imma say SCP containment breach. that one was spooky.

Silent Hill 3
Silent Hill 4
Fatal Frame 2
Fatal Frame 3
Siren

Special mention: Bloodborne Chalice dungeons

I wish I could play scary games but I’m too much of a pussy

Darkwood
Dead space
SOMA
RE1
RE7

cry of fear, easily

Step aside fags

anyone played Maid of Sker? it's gonna be on games with gold next month, is it even worth the 7 euros?

gold source mod lmao no

Silent Hill 2
Amnesia
Eternal Darkness
Call of Cthulhu
Condemned

I disagree. It has mastered atmosphere and dread, which is the type of horror that gets to me the most.

It's impossible for Silent Hill to be scary because it's too much of a meme IP. When I'm playing it I cant be scared because I know it's Silent Hill, this game is a meme, Reddit loves it, so it automatically dispels any "fear" it's supposed to generate. Pyramid Head casually appearing behind you in the hospital basement hallway was alarming but aside from that the entire series is destroyed by it's reputation.

RE 7 feels scarier to me

>all these zoomers playing same game first person jumpscares without combat read notes and hide
I don’t know why anyone would willingly play garbage.

Played Resident evil, Silent Hill, Fatal Frame etc. THought i played everything. Then i played Siren and it was spookier than the rest combined. Hardest game ive ever played. Twice or three times as hard as Dark Souls because you have to have perfect execution in this game to even get past the first hour or two. The game will filter 70% of people that play it.

Kek now this is a quality shitpost

As opposed to

>atmosphere
here i agree, the atmosphere in all of them is great, but it is never scary
>dread
barely ever has this feeling

And the stupid alien with easily predicatable AI isn't scary at all.

I'm not easily frightened or startled but I can't play scary games. I don't jump at jump scares but all the tension outside of the scares makes me too stressed that I turn it off. I stopped playing Dark Wood before I even got to any of the scary stuff

Scariness is subjective. RE1/2 are undeniably survival horror. Don’t get me wrong, RE doesn’t really scare scare me either, but they are still horror games.
