so i am trying to pair my ps4 controller to my pc via bluetooth and it shuts off in like 2 seconds.
my computer recognizes it, and so does steam but only for the literal 2 seconds it stays on. i have tried using multiple controllers and my drivers are up to date.
has anybody else had this problem and have an idea of how to fix it?

poor bluetooth signal?
i dont know how that is possible, im a foot away from it and my switch gamecube controller works perfect wirelessly
connect with a wire and hit the ps button.
Fully charged?
the light doesn't even come on but it does work fine plugged in. i just dont understand why the bluetooth isnt working.
yes, but i did have the same thought. it is doing the exact same thing with all 3 of my ds4 controllers
Probably your bluetooth adapter, but try doing a reset on the controller.
Are you on Windows 7?
it is an integrated one in my laptop. im going to see if ds4windows might fix it
Is the battery dead?
Just connect it with a micro usb from your phone charger, it's so much easier
windows 10
ds4windows won't do anything if it doesn't stay connected
I had the same problem but on Windows 7, on Windows 10 DS4W solved it for me.
Try resetting the controller pushing the small button in the back with a clip or something while pressing the PS button for 10 seconds, then turn off all the bluetooth devices around the house, phones, speakers, laptops, everything, then try pairing it again
Hold these buttons while connecting. Worked on my machine.
well, i restarted my system and now everything seems to be working fine. i dont understand why but now its working.
Did you really not reboot after installing new drivers?
i didnt install any new drivers i just checked to see if i was up to date, which i am
Is it a desktop or a notebook? If desktop, are you using the bluetooth antenna? Most motherboards with bluetooth support have terrible signal even if you are 10cm from it without the antenna
it's a laptop
Did you tested it on a playstation itself?
I think your battery might be dead, i had the same problem.
So you updated your drivers, make sure to always restart when installing or uninstalling any kind of new hardware or software user, glad it works though.
i only had 1 ds4 ever do that and it was the battery, try using wired and changing the usb cable
i just searched for updates and got the everything is up to date message. i didnt install anything
its weird because i tried it with multiple ds4 (i have 3) and they all did the same thing
try changing the cable
not a bad idea at all
Xbox one gen 3 controllers have bluetooth. They're kinda nice.
i was thinking about buying one just to keep in my laptop bag but i already have a few ds4 lying around
Yeah
