I just got rev2 a few weeks ago but haven't played it much because I usually can't into fighting games

I don't like these company twitters that just post shit memes all the time.

They talk about "the next time you'll be able to play" in Backyard updates, and their last beta did nothing for testing the game's netcode anyway seeing as they're using different netcode for the full release, so I imagine it'll happen. I was hoping it would be announced with the next character seeing as they said they would have a lot to show, but seeing as they announced the exhibition matches that may have been all they were talking about.

He's continued to tweet about ArcSys and working of rollback since that tweet that made people think he wasn't working there anymore. People were just making assumptions, he never said he stopped working on it, and seeing as he continues to openly talk about ArcSys and what they're doing, I imagine he still works there.

There's no gameplay at all, it's just cutscenes. It's alright though.

He was never actually developing it, just advising, and there's no evidence that anything has changed there.
It's not exactly complicated, only one company has ever actually fucked it up out of the dozen or so games that have implemented it by now, it just happens that that was fucking Street Fighter so no one is going to forget about it

There's a few nice parts but overall there's not much. Also you could probably just watch the whole thing on youtube

The story is overly-complicated nonsense that is gonna be hard to understand without sufficient knowledge of the series. As for actually "playing" the story you don't, you just sit back and basically watch GG the anime for a couple hours then you get an achievement and some money. I like it personally since it doesn't force you to play as a bunch of characters you never touch and the story doesn't have to come up with dumbass reasons for each character to end up in fights at the specific stages like every other story mode in fighting games.

After Story C is the greatest shit.

Nobody plays or ever will play Guilty Gear no matter the netcode (look at garou, kof, samshovsp) or gameplay

the short answer is that its a game that appeals to nobody. they've removed all the nuance and depth that GG fans enjoy, but casuals aren't going to play a game where there's a lengthy rant about SOCIETY before every match, they have to memorize overly specific ways normals chain into other normals, and where sol can command grab them for half their healthbar. not to mention whatever the FUCK that online in the beta was.

they're just going to play street fighter, mortal kombat and tekken no matter what arcys does to superficially get those numbers, so they're just burning bridges.
