The clipping on those blocks actually helps you get on top half the time because the floor will pull you up. You were just too far below when you clipped

It's such a shame that Sunshine has the best movement and controls of the entire series, but the absolute worst levels. So many missions are miserable to play and they take forever to get back to if you die or lose Yoshi.

10/10 if the entire game was made of secret levels.

It’s this a joke? Plenty of modern games have clipping issues. This one is almost 20 years old and still counts as an early 3D game

Never understood why anyone likes the FLUDD-less levels in this game, Mario's movement is so stiff and shitty, he feels a lot better with the gimmick.

It feels so weird to me reading people talk about Sunshine now. I had no idea that the controls and movement were an issue for so many people until the remaster got people talking about it again, the snappiness of it was always part of why I liked it so much when I was younger.

Literally all the complaints and levels where people got filtered (watermelon shine sprite, the FLUDD-less levels, sandbird, etc.) I never struggled with as a kid. Even replaying them some few years later I blazed through all of them without any real trouble. Is it all just some overblown meme like the water temple in OOT?

OP's complaint is about clipping through the gear to his death.

Galaxy was all fun and no bullshit. There's a reason it and Galaxy 2 are hailed as the best 3D Mario games constantly.

I think some big issues with this game could be remedied by making the shine count matter. Doing something like 64 where completion is locked behind the number of shines instead of "just beat Shadow Mario in each world".
