How are you going to play untranslated JRPGs at this rate?

why have dekinai threads become so frequent recently?
not that I'm complaining, seeing EOP arguing against anons pretending to be fluent in japanese is pretty amusing
>How are you going to play untranslated JRPGs at this rate?
All good games are already translated, either officially or by fans.
Ironic weebs are the fucking worst.
learning gook speak isn't going to help us recover Thule, so I don't see the point
there are no jrpgs worth playing, period
Shut up, I woke up a few hours ago.
Covid giving people more free time I'm assuming
Because I have to study statistics or I will fail, which is more important than playing untranslated games.
>doing anki in 2020
it's all about actually playing games and having fun, user
cope
how do i motivate myself to do reps early in the morning instead late at night?
I wouldn't be able to learn anything anyway, so what's the point? ;_;
Do them on your phone and dont let yourself get out of bed until they are done
im already fluent in japanese
do it while taking a dump
i shit every morning, don't know about you though
Just dew it
>dont let yourself get out of bed until they are done
He said give him a motivation to do them, not the opposite
well user, share your method with the rest of the class
>do it while taking a dump
my dumps are long enough to do 250 reps
How long should it take to just get to N4
Bois, I finished the jlpt5 and 4 from itazuraneko, should I grab another one? Or just increase the amount of time I watch anime with jap subs/read vns
What untranslated games ya
>Playing now
>Completed last
>Like the most
>Felt the most
anki decks I mean
I was playing this shit, hooking the text with chiitrans lite (it's for vns but surprisingly it works with rpgmaker games too) but god it was boring.
Also don't bother with chii on win 10, I've heard it doesnt work
How much Kanji would you have to know to read something like Steins;Gate?
all the kanji
Do you guys do some pre word mining and research before watching an anime/playing a game?
Why should I bother learning japanese?
how long did that take you?
If you don't want to, then don't do it
>forget to do my reps for a few days
>anki says i have 200+ cards to review today
Dunno, 2 months? 3? I started with a 1000 kanji from heisig, then jlpt5 then 4.
5 I did 50 words a day, and suspended a shit ton of the useless ones (like numbers, time, counters), 4 I did 30
>playing now
steins;gate, it's bretty good so far
>completed last
an rpg maker game called arishia no panse, part of the dogma series. it was okay. i've been putting off finishing the last 2 games in the series because i don't want it to end.
>like the most
SHINSETSU MAHOU SHOUJO. I can't stress this enough, it's one of the single best games i've ever played in my entire life. i think it might genuinely be my favorite game of all time, it's absolutely fantastic and i genuinely can't think of anything i dislike about it. anybody who is learning japanese and is willing to play an SRPG 100% needs to play this fucking game, it will NOT let you down.
>felt the most
shinsetsu mahou shoujo. no seriously, play this fucking game
it's not really about "learning kanji," it's about knowing vocab. that having been said if you don't know a word you can always use your text hooker and look it up. the slice of life scenes aren't that bad, and most of the SF stuff isn't that bad either, but there are some long infodump sequences that are pretty tough so far.
You need to know the words, genius. Fucking individually, down to the reading. Which means looking up every single fucking one of them multiple times until you see the word enough times to know it. Your kanji wankery is 99% a waste of time.
It's just a hobby to pick up.
If you watch copious amounts of anime, jap shows, play games with jap dubs, read jap light novels and comic books listen to jap music and sports with jap broadcasters you mine as well.
Poland and Germany ruined ints djt so people are just doing it here now.
>200 is a lot now
Lazy ass, 200 might take you 30 minutes
Learn the kanji, then learn the vocab. Just knowing the kanji on their own with no vocab will make it near impossible to actually understand anything you're reading.
>it's about knowing vocab.
So you should probably do some pre research like mentioned right?
But user, I did my reps 8 hours ago.
Finished my wani kani and pimsleur for the day. Now playing Doom for practice.
>Did my reps for 4 years straight
>Beyond N1, but my reading speed is still 1/3 to 1/2 of a native speaker's speed
I hate the feeling of sluggishness when reading Japanese. Why can I read English as a ESL at a normal speed, but can't do the same with Japanese?
i personally don't. no matter how good your vocab knowledge is, your reading speed is going to be slow as fuck until you've been learning japanese for like a decade anyway, so you might as well just pick it up if you're interested instead of trying to guess what words might show up and learn them ahead of time.
i think the best advice i could give is to consume a big variety of genres, sticking with basic school SOL stuff is fine at the start but you do want to get into SF, mystery, fantasy etc to broaden your vocab as much as possible.
What Pimsleur lesson are you on?
>numbers, time, and counters
>useless
Are you literally learning jap specifically to read untranslated games? You need all of those things if you want to actually communicate everyday topics in japanese.
Just finished 22 of pimsleur 1.
Alright boys, time for another budget djt on Zig Forums which hits the bump limit solely because of the sheer quantity of autists willing to argue over the "right" way to learn japanese.
not that user but i would say 99% of japanese learners are more interested in playing games and reading comics than talking with nihonjin
Nice. I'm trying to find somebody ahead of me (16 of level 2) who could give me some insight on if it's natural to get burnt out right around now.
I feel like I've retained less in the past 3 days than ever so far
I suspended everything I already knew and thus a waste of time to review; or that I don't care about knowing, like 経済.
I did my "reps" (by which I mean I studied 10 hours a day) back in 2002
most of you weren't even born probably
post some good learning jp games
anything you can text hook is a good choice
None, if its moonrune then fuck this shit.
I play something else then.
I love Japanese language
Because non literary English uses limited vocabulary, and you're probably trying to read porn, and it doesn't give a fuck about holding wordy words back. Go play last Dragon Quest or something, it has furigana on the Switch.
spank
Is this a daily thread now? Every day and it's the same thing. There's only like 2 or 3 people actually talking about video games because there's only like 2 or 3 people who got good enough to just play things and not worry about learning methods or whatever anymore. The whole rest is pointless discussions of garbage offtopic and forever running in circles about the same exact things every single time.
I noticed in my lessons im always compelled to say はい instead of ええ
Is that still proper grammar, or am I going to sound like a foreigner if I say はい too much?
for me it's eroge
Sorry, not feeling it today. Tae Kim's been kicking my ass lately with all this なの stuff
It's an opportunity for some to realize there is no circumventing hard work in life. Not without a price.
If you can't read this, you're ngmi
>I'm not feeling it today
Ngmi, and it's very very rare that I'd ever tell somebody that
Oh, sweet summer child. The rabbit hole is endless, and you haven't even fallen in.
I know, but that doesn't answer my question
