What is objectively the best version of tetris to play on pc?
Preferably no browsershit, emulation counts.
What is objectively the best version of tetris to play on pc?
puyo puyo tetris on steam probably
Oatris.
I think they still use the NES version in competition, so either that or the fancy new Tetris with all the Eurobeat and hardbass
Nullpomino
Tetris Online Poland
TGM2+
Tetris effect
if you want to play multiplayer vs other players puyo puyo tetris for sure. if you wanna play by yourself get Nullpomino
OP here, after googling all of this it seems like puyo puyo is the modern, flashy party game experience whereas nullpomino and the nes versions are the sharp, singleplayer competitive ones.
Thanks all you anons! Further suggestions are also appreciated.
The one you coded yourself.
Not gonna lie I did consider this
Hello Kitty Tetris on the official site
>Preferably no browsershit
Fuck you it's Hello Kitty Tetris for free
CDi vaporwave version
you have a point
>no browsershit
jstris is the only tetris worth playing
The miscolored block in this image are irking me.
yeah what the fuck. Cursed
tetr.io has a downloadable client
Which one? Or do you just mean they're all random colors
The miscolored blocks irk you, but not the completed rows?
theyre all fucking random
Tetris TGM2+ is on FightCade
Tetris: The Grandmaster series.
You can emulate all the games, but from what I understand is that TGM runs like ass because of input lag, TGM2 runs very well under something called ShumpTGM2 or some shit, and TGM3 can run natively on windows, but there's input lag unless you download something for it called AltInput.
I use a fangame called Texmaster, which basically compiles all the major modes from the TGM series into one game that runs practically flawlessly with the Arika Rotation. You can change backgrounds, music, and sounds and stuff but that takes effort. You can find a link of Texmaster version 5 on Reddit.
Puyo Puyo Tetris is the modern standard and PPT2 will take over once that's released. NEStris is a meme and TGM is fun but also old as shit.
>NEStris is a meme
I totally agree with the competitive aspect. It's becoming a joke with everyone hypertapping to hell.
>and TGM is fun but also old as shit.
I fail to see how being old is a problem. I do think TGM 2 and 3 are superior to but that's about it. Really I blame Mihara and his fanboys for being cunts and nearly killing the series they claim to love.
Tetris Effect is hands down the best version.
Tetris DS is a great one to emulate, my 2nd favourite.
Puyo Puyo Tetris is interesting but the actual tetris feels off. Not sure whats with it.
>Puyo Puyo Tetris is the modern standard
Absolutely not. They've fucked around with the code and it doesn't feel right compared to other modern Tetris games.
What's up with PPT aside from it feeling slow? I always thought the slow speed was a conscious decision since it was on handhelds and consoles before hitting PC.
Puyo Puyo Tetris sucks ass on PC, the port is broken beyond belief and will drop inputs. Tetris Effect is what you want for single player. Multiplayer, anyone serious is pretty much playing on browser games.
PPT is the modern standard, it's still the only multiplayer game worth a fuck that's official until PPT2 is out. It's pretty much the story of all console Tetris games for the past two decades. PPT isn't even the slowest, the DAS on Tetris 99 is unbearably slow if you're trying to play with any kind of speed. It's possible to play fast Tetris games on controller but it's generally agreed that slower ARR/DAS and garbage timing are appropriate for controller first games.
The rotation speed is weird and the drop speed is off. The game overall feels like it has very minor input lag too. My other issue is the sound design.
