The new model looks fine for a young Parker, but I was under the impression he was supposed to be a bit older, hence Morales being around, so now it's a bit odd because now it's a young looking Parker that is apparently already seasoned and has locked away countless criminals.

He's 23 in the game. The original model looks a bit old, the new one a bit young. They can't find a middle ground.
I do think the new one animates way better though based on that clip they posted though, the old one was genuinely distracting in some scenes

Ah damn, I literally just beat it two days ago and didn't realize his age was mentioned. I had him pegged in his late 20s, he just comes off as much more experienced. His original model looks like the start of becoming a man (which fits the narrative of the story well), while this new model looks like an absolute inexperienced boy. That would be fine if he wasn't supposed to be a mentor to Morales.

He's only 23, but he's also been Spiderman for 8 years at the time of the game.
