>The goyim aren't allowed to lie for profit! That's our thing and they're stealing it!

who is the tranny who keeps shilling these posts? No one cares it just devolves into you getting called a tranny, and rightfully so.

>abloo bloo I have to work some extra hours for a couple weeks to finish a project/task

Yeah, this is such a horrible problem and also doesn't exist in other fields

It should be ilegal to announce games withotu them being gold.

How's that boot tasting? Is Mr. Goldberg happy or has he threatened to lay you off for not staying till 8 pm again?

>terrible team management leads to delays of a 7 year game dev and an inevitable crunch to rush out said game for release
>game releases with huge amount of issues and bugs
This is all somehow completely fine in the eyes of a CDPR shill. Crunch is never a good thing and leads to subpar project releases

people working in the video game industry complaning and crying
name a more iconic duo

A tale as old as time

Last year COVID wasn't a thing and people were working in concert in an office. Now people have been working from home for a period of time which slowed down the work. Contracts were drawn up for releasing the game by a certain time. The dramatic, hasn't happened in the last 100 years, live altering pandemic caused things to shift resulting in reduced productivity and now the company must resort to mandatory crunch in order to fulfill their contracts and not get sued.

Boo hoo.

Crunch and software dev go hand in hand whenever fixed delivery dates are concerned.
I can delay delivery, stretch the feature list, etc on a project that doesn't have to be delivered on a specific date because no pressure from investors or publishers.
You can not do that with a game release, it has to release on that date. They already delayed once or twice, right?

The thing is that complex software projects can become very messy, even if managed well, due to unexpected behaviors and issues, sometimes it really does take two weeks working overtime hours to get it right.
Project management for gigantic projects like these is very difficult.
If small companies struggle to manage projects with 10 devs and flexible due dates, do you really expect a multi-hundred person dev team with many spearate teams to handle it perfectly?

The thing is, crunch is implied in software dev, you pretty much agree to it when you sign the contract to work for a developer studio/company if they have fixed dates. No way around it.
You can always refuse to do crunch and or go work somewhere else.

t. sw dev that has been crunching for 3 weeks straight to deliver 2 projects due to chink flu complications and other unrelated bullcrap

arent they getting paid 10% of all profits from the game sales in 2020, so basically all the launch sales profit will be split up with everyone working during thier "crunch"

im guessing this guy has "he/him" and "black lives matter" in his bio

Surprisingly he doesn't.

Remember when Schreier quit Kotaku because they wouldn't let the """"journalists"""" unionize then went to work for Bllomberg

in on twitter screencap thread

>employees have to work 7 additional workdays while being paid overtime rates and are rewarded with a larger cut of game profits
oh the humanity
crunch is what results in Fallout New Vegas and Smash Bros Melee, soft millennial workers who don't have the mental fortitude to put the extra work in when it's needed are what resulted in Mass Effect Andromeda

he's too much of a narcissist for that

Ohh just unionize and everything will go away just get in ours union so we can tell all studios what to do from California

THEY ARE SPLITTING 10 PERCENT OFF ALL COMPANY PROFITS WTF I WANNA WORK THERE

I don't give a shit about game developers.

Kys tranny just do it

There is soooo much gold in one post but I'd like to give a special shout out to
>if I dye my hair wacky colors no one will notice my receding/thinning hair

>Jason "The Jew" Schreier

that they still get paid the extra day of work and get a share of the profits is completly ignores

America media is shit and so are most US americans

I'm surprised you couldn't spot it

Why does this profile read like satire, but I know it isn't?
It's honestly disturbing that there are people who are actually like this.

Maybe they shouldn’t have wasted time coding a genitals simulator

>that they still get paid the extra day of work and get a share of the profits is completly ignores
wow they're getting paid for their crunch time as if it isnt literally illegal for a company not to do that you ape

The games going to come out and sell tens of millions and then crunch will be indirectly applauded. Plenty of people don't care about the staff and don't want yet another delay. They're getting paid overtime anyways.

How the fuck can people on this board post JS tweets and not be sarcastic? Fucking pathetic

>he doesn't know about US labour "laws"

newfaggots posting their twitter memes on Zig Forums

When I saw HP I immediately thought of Lovecraft and was expecting a Niggerman reference

There is nothing wrong with crunch if properly compensated (via higher pay and time off).
When you sign up for this kind of job it's part of the package.
Do oil rig workers raise a stink when something fucks up tremendously and they have to put in a 12 hour workday? No.

The second worst thing that happened on 9/11

the laws are there, but employers will ignore them and employees will let them because they think having a shit job is better than no job at all when your country hates you for not being the 1%
