What hardware are you running op? My 5700xt runs it perfect. Was replaying THUG1+2 for old times sake this week

If the game suffers from slowdowns on the real console then it's still going to have slowdowns in PCSX2; that's just a part of having accurate emulation

The only problem I've had with this thing are those black spots in MGS3.
Everything else I've tried worked wonders with zero issues.

higher resolution makes up for it. the difference is insane in most games

It really doesn't unless your favorite unknown ps2 game happens to be one of the few games that don't emulate properly on pcsx2.
