Games for this feel?

H-haha...

All I remember about Rayman fans is that a bunch of frogs on a Rayman forum bullied a kid so bad they caused him to off himself and then bragged about it

If there was a way to share maps this game could stay alive for a long time..

>be a fan of a niche series
>it’s still going on
I feel for you Rayman fans

Why couldn't the devs just put a fucking stopper on it?

Not really obscure, but Professor Layton went from being one of the best-selling DS series to being pretty much dead now. I've often wondered if the decline in popularity had to do mostly with people getting tired of the puzzles or if it had to do with the declining quality of the story after the third game.

HD ports or remasters never ever, fuck
pretty sure THQ is working on a brand new game, but thinking about what horror that'll look like in the modern world hurts me

It fucking hurts

Red orchestra/Killingfloor WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Advance Wars. Armored Core. They died kinda abruptly, but the devs would tease (and still do, occasionally) about a potentially new game, drawing out hope. Why even bother at this point though.

Breath of Fire
>first game was in 1993 and a classic
>late 90s/early 2000s are golden era. 3 and 4 are peak of the series, first games get some GBA remakes to update them a bit for modern audiences
>fifth game is a weird change of formula to experiment and is considered a low point, but not unplayable
>then suddenly 15 years of nothing
>barely even gets referenced in numerous Capcom crossovers (they did appear in a SegaXCapcom comic crossover at least, but struggle to think of any other scenario)
>BoF6 finally happens in 2016... it's a shitty mobile MMO gacha mess released only in Japan, panned, and is now unplayable as the servers have shut down
>nothing since

killing floor 2 bungled early access so hard, they got so damn lazy.
i reopened the game after 4 years the other day, it still has barely any new content, and a ONE new character since i last played.
How the fuck

Wow, if that knight were anywhere but the center, it could land on every space except the center

bros...

at least rearmed was fun

Heroes of Might and Magic.
>First four games overflowing with soul
>Developer goes out of business
>Ubisoft buys, first new game is as good as the old ones
>Subsequent games are increasingly awful
>Last game is dogshit and was released 5 years ago
>Nothing but forgettable cartoony mobile spin-offs ever since
It didn’t deserve this fate.

>Last game was 7 years ago
>Since then we only got rehashed mobile games
>Michael Ancel just left Ubisoft and the gaming industry possibly due to his toxic behavior
Smash is his only hope, if he doesn't make it in, Limbless bro will probably just fade into obscurity...

No fucking clue, same thing with rising storm 2, complete clusterfuck of dogshit. KF1 vs KF2 is literally the only true example of soul/soulless

Sly Cooper
>Game had an amazing run from 2002 to 2005
>Considered one of the three PS2 mascots
>Then 8 years of nothing
>Forth game comes out in 2013 but by different dev team
>Game isn't too bad but heavily criticized
>Leaves game on a massive fucking cliffhanger
>7 years of nothing... and counting
>Movie then TV series was announced, but nothing ever came of that
One can hope that Sucker Punch might pick up their franchise one day, they keep putting Easter eggs about it in their other games, it shows that they still care about Sly

Maybe a dozen of the most hard trying tryhards is all that remains of it. Complete barrier to any new players foolish enough to install and try it. Basically dead. It fucking hurts.

At least it dies a dignified death. Unlike hundreds of other IPs who mutate over time into something unrecognizable.

No Freedom Fighters 2

No, Homefront doesn't count

It's probably for the best, at least legends and origins were a good send off

let's go a bit deeper
>The settlers
>Command and Conquer
>Dungeon keeper
>the entire god game genre
>the entire adventure game genre
>DayZ
>Planetside
>Aliens Vs Predator
>Natural Selection
>Saints Row
>Gigantic
>Red faction
None of them are really that niche, but these are just the ones off the top of my head, I think everything good just turns to shit eventually.
Honourable mentions:
>Battlefield

It could happen now that I|O is independent and owns the IP.

OG xbox kino

Has there ever been a game like this since?
