Serious question, how will we ever recover? If this fucker can just put shit on the ledge that invalidates a lot of characters.
Serious question, how will we ever recover...
OH NO NO NO LITTLE MAC BROS
Im guessing you can only put it on the stage and can't build out and im also guessing that you can like, ledge roll through the blox
Otherwise we are fucked.
damn i laughed really hard at this OP
but yeah idk i'm guessing he can't place stuff right beside ledges
I'm wagering the blocks can be destroyed fairly easily
In minecraft you can only place blocks on top of or attached to other blocks
So he probably won't be able to just place blocks in mid air and have them fall or stay there, he'll need to go off stage and attach the block to the ledge itself
Are you retarded?
Sorry, I mis-spoke.
You ARE retarded
huh?
Steve will be top tier

Four very real possibilities here
>Blocks are limited to what has been harvested via the mining, so he can't just put them out forever
I'm still worried about faggots stalling a lot, but we'll see.
>Can't built in the air or directly at ledge
It will work via a "grid" and I bet he won't be able to place immediately at ledge
>hitting blocks breaks them
Very likely
>Can roll through them/walljump off of them
The setup time of it is a bit slow, but it might be possible that a wall plus his dair (I assume that heavy block drop is dair) would cover a lot of options, yeah.
Moveset so far seems like
>jab is MM style will walking, swing sword
>fsmash is heavy sword swing
>dsmash is lava
>dtilt is flint
>utilt is axe
>fair is pickaxe
>dair is heavy block drop
>fishing pole grab with uthrow having the piston
I am going to guess that neutral B is mine, down B is craft, upB is either wings or block build depending on if you are grounded or not and side B is TNT.
My guess is that the blocks work similar to those in the Mushroomy Kingdom stage, maybe with a little more resistance.
They also clearly have a timer
They showed that the blocks break on their own after some time
>Haters will LITERALY never recover from Steve in smash
Very based minecraft-steve.
You just know people are going to ragequit the second you start building at the ledges
Probably easily breakable
ah yes, but ignoring that I was wondering if they were breakable before the timer runs out.
I would say it would be a retarded decision to not. I am guessing you have to mine them before placing. You can see cobblestone come out when he gets iron. Otherwise it seems like it would be too easy to just build up and be a faggot while some characters struggle to do anything about it.
Can we put it on the ledge? Even the TNT was placed a block space away. Still, even if you can't, this seriously hinders a lot of characters recovery in other ways. Effective stage control is the name of Steve's game in a way that no other character has. Being able to put a blockade up means that a lot of characters combo game and approach is basically fucked.
They also showed that some blocks stay around. There are three blocks that don't get cracks on them. I would guess that you have up to 3 'permanent' blocks that have to be attacked to be broken, while any others placed after that, deteriorate on their own and faster depending on when they were placed. So ones placed later go faster then the one placed before it.
Can't believe I JUST NOW realized all the horrible things I'll be able to do online with this character.
I'm guessing that it's
>Up B: Elytra
>Side B: Minecart
>Down B: Mine
>B: Build and craft
What you can build depends on what resources you gather, that includes things like the TNT and redstone you'll need for it.
Hm, it's weird. You can clearly see all of the blocks in the stack get cracks, but there are some wooden blocks which don't seem to. Good eye.
i just wanna know what move Kirby's gonna get
Build and craft can't be on the same button, that makes no sense. Side B could indeed be the minecart. Maybe craft is similar to inkling with shield + B. There's no way that TNT isn't a B move.
>Build up and then over the ledge, completely messing up some characters recovery, forcing them to try to break your barrier.
>Build a TNT trap, forcing them to engage or take huge damage. Can also be built in such a way that you can encase them for just a bit.
>Build so that you can Anvil them
>Build so that you can force them to have to wall tech, or eat a combo.
Steve's level of control of the battlefield is seriously on another level to every other character and it's scary. Good Steve players will be fast builders.
>Bitch and moan about how melee is the best smash, one where someone simply grabbing the edge prevents you from grabbing it
>"Y-YOU CANT PUT BLOCKS THERE THATS CHEATING"
Kirby main here. Cant wait to use Steve's ability against him.
B can do a lot of things, just look at Shulk. An 'inventory' and being able to hold be to select the block is fine. Context sensitive based on selected block and being next to a crafting table seems like something Sakurai would do.
>Kirby becomes blocky and gains a standard amount of inventory. 20 wood blocks, 20 stone, 5 redstone, 1 TNT and 1 pressure plate
>Good Steve players will be fast builders
NO ITS FUCKING FORTNITE ALL OVER AGAIN
Height/stack cap, but it probably won't invalidate ledges. So you're still able to grab the ledge, but must jump up over the blocks to get back on stage.
Wonder if the blocks just act as a wall, or if they have ledges to grab on if stacked a certain way?
>he actually thinks someone puts down the TNT, redstone, and pressure plate as individual "blocks" instead of just a move
Are you serious? Even the animation is different than setting down other blocks.
