I’ve seen some gameplay, it doesn’t look different from the fighter mode in BF2. What does this game do different, other than more ship customization and changing what voice over the player has?

I'm gonna try it just because of the VR appeal. If it sucks then I'll just refund it.

How pozzed is the game? I'm on the verge of buying it.

Hold off until it actually releases. Right now, all I’m seeing is the BF2 flying with more vehicle customization.

The campaign is 6 hours max
The multiplayers is 5v5 only
There are only 3-4 multiplayer maps

Much, MUCH more control over your fighter, shunting energy between weapons, engines, and shields (if you're on rebels side), plus drifts and 180 spins.

Shunting energy sounds cool ngl, but the lack of many multiplayer modes and maps, as well as the short length of the campaign, makes me drop it

It's actual simulation with shit like diverting power, managing shields, etc. It looks fun

There's a gay character but that's about it. And I don't think they actually bring attention to it in the game itself

That’s true, I can’t explain it, but I’m just really hesitant with this game. I think I’m just going to hold off until I see more people play it, and seeing some actual reviews come in.

I'm on the same boat mate, the no content side plus the pozzed side of EA games really throw me off.

But What I'm afraid of is the fact that the player base is going to crumble pretty fast, is there a public for multiplayer ship shooters?

That’s what I’m worried about too. Especially with limited game modes and limited maps, it seems like it’ll get really boring quickly. I just can’t trust EA to handle this properly, and with how niche the flight combat simulator marker is, I don’t know how long this game will stick around.
I’m passing until I see rave reviews from actual people.

Yeah? Skyrim also has the same functionality. It’s not that hard. It doesn’t change the fact that VR is an unnecessary add on designed only to show off what’s “possible” as opposed to “what’s actually crucial to making the game great”.

idk why they focus on mp so much, the lucasarts games excelled in single player and x-wing vs. tie fighter already established that multiplayer is kinda gimmicky
