Sekiro

(you) DID beat the game, right user?
Or did you hesitate?

It wasn't hard. probably the most unga bunga of the souls games. what I mean is you can just throw yourself over and again at the enemy without really learning anything. theres a only a select few attacks you need to anticipate, like the monkey screech.

I watched Marz play it and rubbed my dick to the rhythm

Beat it the day before it came out.

There is no word "hesitation" in my vocabulary. It takes me 1-2 tries every run to finish him off. And I will mist raven lightning reversal his ass and no one can stop me.

Less than a month until this

I did beat it, but upon reflecting on my experience with it I concluded that I really didn't enjoy the process.

I enjoy hard games and getting my ass kicked but there's something about the unresponsive controls and the overall depressing atmosphere of the game (I don't even think there was actual music beyond somber ambience most of the time), just puts me off the whole thing.

Ninja Gaiden though, bring that shit on. Puts a smile on my face every time.

I beat him by baiting his leaping attacks in every phase.

Kill's a kill.

A shinobi would know the difference between honor and victory.

>A ninja or shinobi was a covert agent or mercenary in feudal Japan. The functions of a ninja included espionage, deception, and surprise attacks. Their covert methods of waging irregular warfare were deemed dishonorable and beneath the honor of the samurai.
You're a shinobi. There is no honor in shinobi warfare.

Well yes, that was my fucking point user.

What? Did you even play the game?

S-sorry I didn't understand what the phase meant in the game and I still don't.

>Never beat Genichiro in the game's intro

>Finally beat him
>Put the game down
>No urge to ever play it again

Nice $60 you fucking nips

I played it twice and both times I dropped it at the final boss. I don't have the hand-eye coordination and skill to chain a 90 to 120 parries sequence.

I doubt I'll play the game again but I'll reinstall it to get this update , copy it to my backup drive and uninstall.

It means Sekiro fought Genichiro head-on and lost, whereas Genichiro (if you managed to defeat him in the intro) used a sneaky tactic and won.

Honor is meaningless. You either win or lose.

>90 to 120 deflects
Are you playing on 1 Attack Power?
I refuse to believe it took that many deflects unless you didn't upgrade your attack

Isshin was a joke after Father Owl

What the fuck I was unaware of this. Still wishing for a full blown DLC but this is pretty neat too

>Upgrade your attack

This is a joke right? There isn't a way to do this right? I rang the bell and beat the game, but I never upgraded any attack stat. I just upgraded the useless secondary weapons and got some other useless attacks

It's funny how the gitgut people can't mock you for using cheese tactics to beat Sekiro given how much emphasis the game, both in-universe, thematically and from a gameplay standpoint, that the only thing that matters is victory.

>90 to 120 parries
Wot? How the fuck do you manage to not destroy his ass by baiting him in mikiri attacks? Mist raven tool is very good for that fight too, if you hesitate to parry his powerful attacks, and if you can time correctly lightning reversal with it.

Lmao. But I'll bite.

If you're actually being serious you can turn in your fight memories after defeating a boss at any idol to increase your attack power.

I refuse to believe this isn't bait
Have your (you)

I can and will mock you, though.

As someone who has mastered fighting Father Owl, I shall sperg out and give tips as I'm seeing an increase in number of people complaining that he's difficult
No brainers: Mikiri counter at every opportunity. Jump over the flaming Spirit-Owl in phase 2. Always have a finger on the jump button, Father can whip out the Perilous Sweep at a moment's notice
Father's Combos:
>One Shuriken throw, followed by wide horizontal swing aka Chasing Slice
Deflect the Shuriken and then immediately dodge under/through the sword. This will allow you to get a few hits in
You could deflect both if you're more comfortable with it
>Double shuriken throw followed by somersault
Again, you could deflect the combo if you're more comfortable with it
Or you can deflect the 2 shuriken thrown and then dodge the somersault. This should allow for you to get a few hits in
>Shoulder Charge into Firecracker Slash
This is his big dick move, chances are it will one shot you if you facetank it. In phase 2, there is a high chance he will dissapear after executing this combo
There are 3 ways to deal with this:
ONE! Deflect the Shoulder Charge, and then do a thrust attack. Doing a thrust will get you out of the firecracker's range AND interrupt his slash, allowing you to continue attacking. I realize how insane this sounds, thrusting against Owl who is capable of Mikri'ng you, but this is THE best way to deal with this combo. I claim this is the best because it WILL STOP Owl from disappearing in phase 2
TWO! Deflect the Shoulder Charge and dodge the follow-up to go behind him and get a few hits in. This is the standard way I've seen people deal with this combo
THREE! Deflect the Shoulder Charge, then immediately dodge backwards once, then forwards once. You will see the slash go through your character, but the dash has a few i-frames
I would not advice deflecting the Firecracker slash, it is not worth the chip damage. But if you don't want to shy away, then deflect with the Umbrella
TBC

>Perilous Sweep followed by Wind-up slow Ichimonji(?)
If you allow Owl to execute this combo in phase 2, there is a chance he will dissapear. Multitude of ways to deal with this combo:
High Monk will dodge the Sweep AND interrupt the follow-up
Jumping over the Sweep and then executing a Mid-Air Mortal Draw will deal a lot of damage and interrupt the follow-up
Jumping over the Sweep and dealing with the follow-up: attach him twice and dodge, or attack him twice and deflect
If your goal is speed, then jump over the Sweep and then slowly strafe him which will lead him to cancel the wind-up and hit you with a roundhouse slash. A well-timed slash will interrupt Owl's roundhouse slash, and will make sure he does not dissapear in phase 2
>phase2's teleport-in attack followed by either Perilous Sweep or wind-up slash
The general way to deal with this is just avoid it
But should you want to conquer and surpass Father: then make sure to position yourself and the camera in a manner that will allow you to deflect the teleport-in attack. If he's going for the follow-up sweep, you can headstomp. If he's going for the wind-up, then see the above way to deal with the wind-up
A very comfy way to deal with this attack is to use Umbrella to deflect the teleport-in attack, then use Projected Force to interrupt the Follow-up
Then there are the normal combo moves he uses, that which reflects Wolf's own Combo.
There is this certain maintainable rhythm to this fight. Keep attacking until Owl deflects, then immediately deflect and then deal with whatever Owl chooses to do
Surpass your Father, show that you are a greater Shinobi, and grant him his wish of fighting to the death

What do people enjoy in game like dark souls/blood brone/ sekiro ? It's just walking and mashing buttons infront of artificially inflated enemies. There is no freedom of approach or any skill you just have to memorise things , compare it to mario 64 where you have a thousand ways to complete a level just using the same core mechanics.

i literally cannot into deflecting so no

it's not even a tight window

not him but i wasnt paying attention and didn't catch on to this until much later in the game
