I finished Sticker Star and Color Splash before I finished 64 or even touched TTYD. I ended up preferring the latter two by far and do not intend on buying another game that's in line with the former two.

That’s just straight up false though. I played Sticker Star and it was a genuinely miserable experience, played Color Splash and thought it was such a fucking waste of hard work in some areas like the visuals and music, and pirated Origami King and felt the same way I did about Color Splash. There’s clearly a lot of work that goes into these games in some areas but their arrogance to bog the game down with garbage holds them back incredibly hard.
Origami King is the closest to being good but the underwhelming as fuck final act brings it back into the red for me, it’s such a rushed final world just like the last two games and the final boss was just depressing, it was like they hadn’t learn a single thing about what made the boss battles fun and regular enemy/overworld battles shallow and doubled down all of the game’s flaws, going as far as to shoehorn in a passive aggressive jab through Olly about the character design issues the recent games have instead of giving him an interesting backstory. This game had so many perfect setups for memorable moments and yet it always did nothing with them, it honestly felt like so much of this game was built around trailer shots and speculation bait.

About the only real bias in the video was the Splatoon example, which was based off his (possibly biased, possibly true) perception that a lot of the most vocal haters hadn’t actually played the old games, and didn’t have an understanding of why it was frustrating to people in his camp.
He did a pretty good job calling out the critics, how they’ve made the conversation worse (he stopped just short of saying they were the ones at fault), but he probably should have acknowledged that, just the same, many of them haven’t played TOK while calling it Sticker Star 3.
