Kids these days seem to LOVE horror or generally unsettling tones hidden behind a cartoony, childlike aesthetic, with a LOT of "lore" to string them along.

That covers all of the image except Cuphead, which I guess is just that it has the same appeal as the cartoons it's emulating, which is something very fresh from their perspective.

It's pretty fuckin obvious today's zoomer obsession with horror and deep lore started with FNaF. The other games only highlighted it.

The only game I’m completely lost is the animatronic scary game. How the fuck is that so huge? I’ve looked up game play and all you’re doing is shutting a door or getting yelled at by them. I went down this rabbit hole and apparently it has all kinds of back story and autistic lore shit going on. I think I saw a YouTube who made like 25 videos and his different theories on it. It’s actually bad shit insane. Like how the fuck did this even come about? Shit is just stupid man. It reminds me of the Star Wars fanbase and them creating this entire fucking wiki page for a guy (who is in the back ground) with only half a second of screen time.

Pretty sure children have always liked horror. FNaF and Baldy's are horror with no overly graphic content, so they're perfect for children.

there's 7 sequels, 3 spinoff games, 2 big budget games and a lot of books on fnaf. It's practically impossible to get into fnaf unless you're one of the autistic zoomer that's been around since 2014.

the franchise is unironically deeper than people give it credit for. Especially now when zoomers start to care more about the story and characters than the animatronics.
