ffxv? It was good. It doesn't feel like a complete package though.

It's one of the best

It was bad day one, then became ok with dlcs, but it's still missing a lot of stuff

needs DLSS2.0

The gameplay sucks and the world is boring. Patches and dlc can't fix fundamentally flawed game design

It’s okay if you get it all bundled cheap.

The book’s alternative ending is really good and if the game could have shipped complete with that ending it’d be up there with the best FFs

It was a complete shitshow but the gameplay was decent and the main cast was top notch. I'm sure there was a good story planned out but with all the cuts it was lost.

This. I,played original release and it was just awful for me. I've been playing Royal Edition with DLCs and it adds in some stuff that should've been there all along but it's still a lackluster experience.
The prologue "movie" is more interesting than 95% of the stuff in the game.

I got it not too long ago and played for the first time. It's got major issues but what it gets right it does damn well. Incredibly compelling despite the major issues and dripping with soul.

comfy delicious food/ friends sim with some cools mobs/ combat. Based and bravepilled post, I platted this game end of 2016 into '17

But Noctis already has dick-sucking lips 2.

also a really cool dark ending

Yes. Nope.

It had a lot of potential, but the game is an unfinished mess that has been badly stitched together.

Nah XV is the best FF ever and none of the dlc was made to "fix" anything because nothing needed fixing, the dlc and patches just made a great game greater. XV being so good is why it outsold every other ff ever when comparing release timespans.

Go to sleep Barry.

This is correct.

The whole 'gameplay' and 'story' bit is a fucking wash at best but they sell the absolute shit out of the characters and it's pretty decent if you just want to do some fuckabouts in a pretty world.

It's shit and Verum Rex is here to fix it

the royal edition turns the game into a 5 to 6 outta 10

I got it for $2.50, was it worth it? I haven't played it yet, but probably will at some point.

I liked it. The cancelled DLC was a bummer. I blame Sora shota shit.

XV had a flawed game design from start, no amount of patches and DLCs could fix that. Might be worth if it's cheap though

>World: Empty
>Combat: Repetitive
>Plot: Contrived
>Characters: Unlikable and annoying (especially Prompto)

It was flawed and there was no way to salvage it.

Yes
It fixed some issues but left a whole bunch of others unaddressed while creating a few new problems. Like the party members being OP when compared to noctis.

For me it's an OK game, but what it affects it most is that you have a constant feel of "what could have been" during all the game sections.

I have never experienced a feel of wasted potential in any other medium like I did with FFXV, and this taints the whole experience,, speciallly the last 2 acts of the game.

It was bad and the DLC was garbage. It wasn't even woven into the story but confined to completely separate and disconnected episodes accessed form the menu. How not to do DLC 101.

Nothing could have salvaged it. This game is fucked on a conceptual level and should never have been released. No amount of DLC band-aids could have fixed it.

It was good, but after like 15 years of waiting, people expected a product that felt like it had been consistently worked on and polished for 15 years, when in reality, the game was only in full development for about 4 years and had been drastically overhauled multiple times.

Expectations were also set too high by Nomura's concept trailers which we have no evidence was ever an actually functioning game, aside from a combat overlay over some pretty animations in old clips and screenshots.

Rent free.

Based. A kusoge like FFXV doesn't deserve Somnus.

Well that whole city invasion sequence was originally going to be the exciting opening to the game that hooked you in, I have no idea why they thought it'd be better to have the inciting incident to the the plot of the game not actually be experienced in the game and instead the characters fuck around in the desert until they read about it in the fucking newspaper.
