What am I in for? never played it before
Grinding and 5000 defunkt league mechanics that will take a year for you to figure out.
this
Bloat and making a new character to go through the campaign before accessing mapping every 3-4 months
Don't bother, this post is accurate You'd be better off waiting for Path of Exile 2, which is just the same game with casualized/reworked mechanics designed for new players. Anything you learn will be undone when it releases.
watching 5 hours of youtube videos so you can enjoy the game
it hurts how fall this game has fallen.
Yes but how many of the mechanics are bad?
>reinstall because you wanna check new updates
>think how fun it will be trying out new gems
>2 hours in and you're already just zooming through everything
This game is so shit. It is only liked by addicts who love big numbers and colorful explosions. The gameplay loop is just so brainless.
is slayer good and fun class for new player?
Confusion due to the skill tree
Anger due to not getting the items necessary to run the spec you read on lebbid
Frustration over never having enough inventory space
>he didn't play poe before leagues where a thing and learned as they came out
lmao at you
Brilliant game almost killed by its monetization model. And absolute dogshit performance in the endgame.
I'd say yes, overleech and super cull are pretty noticeable fun mechanics. Slayer isn't as strong as other assendancies rn but you shouldn't care about it as a new player.
First post best post
I have 3000 hours in PoE and I kinda regret it
ass
pay attention, always go resistances first
You need to know few mechanics to play it right. Try to get elemental resistance to 76% as soon possible. Except chaos. Another thing is you can change color, amount and connection of sockets on your armor and weapons. I would suggest make to to act 10 and then focus on that. You need to know what character you want to be. I play as Necromancer and my plan was to have as many minions as possible. When you die you lose some experince points. That is problem when you are about level 80. Keep some good rings and amulets that improve your strenght, inteligence or dexternity. Because often you find armor you want don't can't wear. There are ascendancy trials in some maps. When you complete you can make big trial in Plaza that gives you important upgrade options. Use some spell like flamedash to move fast so you can escape from dangerous situations. You need to connected your spells in sockets right. For example you need green socket connected to blue socket. In green socket you put gem that give your spell more projectiles. In blue socket you put spell that shot projectiles. Same logic with minions.

>when it releases
What's the ETA?
grinding gears games is pretty incompetent, they're only successful because there's no competition
paying money to unlock stashes
It is not their fault Blizzard is so pathetic with Diablo 3.
Lots of pouring through forum posts for a build that won't suck.
Extreme amounts of autism.
Usually when they're first implemented it takes a month for them to become way less flawed
can you play it with a controller?
endless boring grinding
Not on PC.
Usually I just go on poe ninja builds and check out what people are doing who are top on the leaderboards. Sometimes its just because they're cracked out on gear but sometimes it helped me fix up my passive tree
Boring diablo clone
>The playable characters will never look as cleanly designed or attractive as the NPCs
>Except for Scion who literally has only a handful of builds that aren't total dogshit
excitement
then disappointment
then frustration
then fury
depending on your attention span and willingness to tolerate bullshit, it may take you anywhere between 1 to 1000 hours to reach each stage, but you'll get there
